Some days are awesome and some days are what feel like the worst day of our lives. No matter what the reason is for your sucky day, there are some tips/tricks to turn your day around.

1. Wake up and write

I have personally discovered that waking up in the morning and writing in my journal has motivated me to have a great day right off the bat. Whether you are writing down what you are thankful for, your goals/accomplishments, or your to-do list, this will set your day up in a positive way.

2. Make breakfast

This is a tip that many people have heard others say before. Not only does breakfast help you start your day in a healthy and satisfied way, but it does not leave you HANGRY. Trust me, being hungry is not how you want to start your day and usually when you start your day feeling hungry, it is hard to turn that around. So set your alarm clocks earlier than usual or make breakfast the night before so that way you can just heat it up quick and easy.

3. Turn up that music

Driving to school, work, social events, meetings and millions of more things can be a drag. No one wants to sit in a car for hours every day dealing with rude people beeping and flicking us the finger. Instead of making a daily ritual something to complain about, try and enjoy the "you" time that you get while being behind the wheel. I have found that making a playlist for my car ridges makes me enjoy driving that much more and keeps my day on a positive note.

4. Treat yourself

Throughout the day we can get so distracted with our schedule that we forget to take care of yourselves. I have found that treating myself with little pleasures that make me happy no matter how big or small, like getting coffee for example, keep my day shining bright.

5. Get up and move

Not only is excising great for your health and body, but it is amazing for your mental health as well! Exercising allows all of those endorphins to release which literally causes people to be happier. No matter how long/what exercise you chose to do, your body and mind will thank you for it. Starting your day or ending your day with this will help your day start/end on a positive note!

6. Find "YOU" time

The last and final tip for having a positive day is to find time for yourself. You have worked hard all day and its time to reward yourself with the love and attention you need. So pop open that bottle of wine, take a bath, binge-watch netflix, and enjoy YOU time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
