To all of those people out there that want to get in shape, I am with you. We are one united front. Freshman year of college really hit me hard when it came to food. I mean, when people say "Freshman 15" I think they mean more of the "Freshman 150." Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration, but gaining weight is definitely a reality. However, when you decide to finally put on those running clothes, I am here to help you get through it! Know that you are not alone! We all look ridiculous, but we also are awesome for making that step towards being healthy, If we decide to actually do it.
1. Maybe I should go to the gym? Or maybe I should sleep in and not go? The second options sounds a lot better. Besides, scary buff people go there.
5. Wow, this is a lot harder than I remember. I am sweating and I literally just walked up the stairs. Oh, treadmill! That's a thing people do. Let's try that. I could run. I will just pretend I am running after Channing Tatum.
6. How do people breathe! What was that? Nope, never again. How do people find that fun? 26.2 miles is actually a thing? How far did I even run? Oh cool, a quarter of a mile. Okay, lets try weights.
7. Wow, people just stare at themselves in the mirror? I go to school with people this attractive? Okay...Oh lord! That's what I look like. Nope nope nope. Walking away. Maybe yoga? Thats exercise, right? I heard they do a position that lets you lay down at the end! All about that nap time.
8. Well that is a big ball of not happening. Gosh, how do people even do that? It requires actual work, and that is not what I wanted. I am really hungry. Like really hungry. I think I have worked myself up a good appetite!
9. I can totally have hash browns, pancakes, and bacon. Working out and eating will just cancel out, right? That's totally how it works. Sweet, maybe I will add a donut for good measure. Mmm donuts.
10. Well, time for me to go back to sleep. Yup, what a successful morning. Maybe I will do this every morning? But not actually because sleep is so much better! Solid attempt though. Proud of myself. The whole "fit" thing is not for me.
Well, it was always worth the try. At least I went one day? That had to build some muscle, right? Oh well, I have decided to accept that I am just not that kind of person. One day, maybe. Until then, I will sleep in. Being healthy and fit requires a lot of effort!
