This is not to scare or sway anyone into religious belief but to inform them of the signs and warnings at hand. I do not look at myself as this self-proclaimed vigilant bible reader. I'll be honest most of my reading is done on Sunday or when I've run out of understanding for why things in my life are changing. One thing I know is every time I open the great book looking for an answer I find it.
I wasn't too shocked about what's going on in the world today as much as others may be because I've already read about these terrible times that we're in. I don't put up much of a protest other than reposting videos or stating the obvious opinion or memes. When you have a guide that tells what you are about to endure beforehand; there's more time for you to prepare how to respond. Those that are responding recklessly are only following what the bible said they were going to do. It was already foretold that these last days would not be peaceful as much as peace is what we are begging for.
I look at what's happening now as a similarity of Jesus' last days here on earth. He was betrayed, persecuted, killed, and most importantly he was innocent. In service last Sunday the message was "these final days." Patsor Melvin Jr.'s lesson came from the book of second Timothy the third chapter verses one through nine:
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jan'-nes and Jam'-bers withstood Mo'-ses, so do these also resist the truth: men of currupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was." (2 Timothy 3.1-9 KJV)
This is only one of the many verses in the Bible that speak specifically on what is happening today. If there were ever a time for us to pray for peace and turn from the ways of sin it is now. Blood for blood won't solve anything. Jesus has already paid our debt with his blood so that no one else would have to. People keep asking how a God that loves us could allow such destruction. Truth be told; he never turned his back on us; we have turned away from him. Until we come together as one and I don't mean within a building; the body of christ "the church" is a group of like-minded hearts that come together in prayer to touch and agree for peace. This is what we need not guns, not war, and not hate. "For God so loved the world he gave his one and only son (John 3.16)." All that we have to do in return is live by his word.
