The biggest mistake and problem that has and continues to be made, is that this country has never admitted it's wrong doings to the Natives, African Americans, the Japanese, the Chinese, or the Irish and let's not forget the indentured servants of this country.
After admitting the wrong doings then there should be an apology, then the healing process can begin and possibly lead to forgiveness.
There can never be any true peace if those four things never happen. Think about it like a terrible relationship, where neither person gets closure but still has to deal with one another on a daily basis.
The one that did the other one wrong goes on with life like nothing ever happened all the while knowing deep in their heart that their partner that they did wrong built and maintains the house that you both still share.
while the one that was done wrong constantly hears that you have to get over it and move on while they still hold the hurt and pain in their hearts, just wanting and hoping the other person to admit to everything so they can begin their healing process.
Just think that this toxic relationship has been passed down through the generations inherited by the ones that had no part in it but has been taught to keep it going.
I have these two questions to ask; Will this be the generation that finally fixes this and put an end to all the hurt division and pain? or Will we continue to carry the torch of hate and everything that makes this country ugly?
The choice is ours but the ball is in the court of the ones who inherited their ancestors' wrongdoings to acknowledge what their ancestors did and apologize.
I know some may say that, that was my ancestors and not us, that may be true but you still enjoy this unbalanced system that they have created for you while the rest of us feel the pain and wrath of that same system that they created to fight against us, Then and only then can we put the ugly past behind us and grow together as bredren and sistren.
I can vision how beautiful this place can be if all of this were to take place, I catch a glimpse of that place every time I see a diverse group of youths walking and talking together. It makes me think that we are so close but yet so far away, we are the ones that can save the human race but we can only do so as ONE.
I love you all!! Peace!!
