Thursday Night Football Needs To Be Fixed

The NFL is an amazing sport. It is mine and millions more sports fans favorite sport. The NFL is one of, if not, the most popular televised sport in America. The NFL this season is celebrating the 100th season of the league. The NFL is in a great spot right now, but there is a problem. Thursday Night Football.

Thursday Night Football has been a very popular event for the league. However, the issue is not that easy to find. The problem that the NFL faces is player safety. Anybody who watches the sport of football knows how violent the game is. Football is not a physical sport, it is a collision sport.

NFL players are some of the most physically gifted people on the planet. They are skilled as well as strong. You have these massive players running into each other at full speed. NFL players run fast, that may seem obvious, but there are multiple players who can hit 20mph or faster. That is the speed of a low-intensity car crash. Players are putting their bodies on the line running into each other at car speeds.

Yes, this is something that they signed up for. The issue is that they do this on Sundays, but then two teams get chosen to play on Thursday. That leaves only three days for players to rest up and heal for the next time you are going top speed. Sunday to Sunday you get a full week to heal. Three days simply is not enough time.

Players also have voiced their opinions on this issue. The players are not fans of playing twice a week. The fans of the league also, in general, do not watch in droves as much as the Sunday games. The fans do not like it a lot the players also do not. It will cost the league money, but if the league is smart they will figure out a way to play these games and appease the players and the fans.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
