If you have had dental problems or a small mouth, you might have gotten a tooth or two pulled. As a kid, you may have your baby teeth pulled if they don't fall out on their own. But when you reach your late teens, you might end up getting your wisdom teeth yanked (if you have any), or if you're like me, a second molar pulled because there's no room for it in your mouth. If you've ever experienced the nerves and pain of going to an oral surgeon, you will probably relate to my thoughts during my extraction experience.
1. When you have to go to your regular dentist for an appointment and they tell you you'll need a tooth pulled
Like I wasn't prepared for this. This isn't fair! I just came in for a cleaning!
2. Arriving at the oral surgeon's office a little nervous
What if something goes wrong? What if they pull the wrong tooth?!
3. When you are asked to watch a video warning you about what might happen after you get your tooth pulled
They mentioned that I might get nausea, feel faint, or get dry socket. I'm going to die.
4. When they give you laughing gas

5. During the procedure

OK, they're cutting open my mouth. But to be honest, I really don't care.
6. Once they lift your chair up.
I have survived. I am unstoppable. Do I have to leave this chair, though? I'm so comfy.
7. On your way home
Is the ice actually cold? I can't feel anything. Mom, where's my face?
8. Having to take gigantic painkillers and antibiotics every six hours
Do I have to take them? They're such a hassle to swallow.
9. When the swelling starts

10. Trying to drink or eat anything while your lips are still numb
11. But when it's all over and the stitches dissolve, you can finally be happy with your mouth again
I can actually smile again without anything hurting. Oh, what a happy day! I will not miss that tooth.
