31 Thoughts When Living with Roommates
cdn.collider.com

You choose the people you want to live for one of three reasons.

1. They're your friend.

2. You really need to find someone to live with/a place to live.

3. You've known them for a while and thought, "What they heck, they can't be that bad?"

Regardless of your reason for picking your roommates, there are always some thoughts that go through your head when you're actually living with them.

The Good

1. Yay, cooking together is great! We love the same food!

2. You can binge watch your favorite shows together or you can get them to love a show as much as you do!

3. Hello! Someone to zip up your dresses and help you decide what to wear when you go out.

4. They completely get me, like they really get me on a personal level.

5. I can order or make food and not have to finish it. It's like having a dog but one that will respond when I talk.

6. Someone to vent about that awful professor that is just out to get you! #Praise

7. Yes roommate I would like to try the ice cream you bought. *insert heart eyes emoji*

8. "You and this guy would soooo hit it off, I'll give him your number." Yes, ultimate wing-girl!

9. Ooooo, her brother is cute. I can definitely get used to this!

10. We. Are. The. Same. Size.

The Bad

11. Crumbs. Why are there crumbs all over our kitchen?!

12. This hair does not belong to me...

13. There is no. more. coffee. *left eye starts to twitch with anger*

14. Hmmm, it's 11 p.m. on a Tuesday and I have an 8 a.m. class... Could they not be so loud?

15. It is Wednesday! Why are you drunk on a Wednesday?!

16. Or, yes I am drunk on a Wednesday. Stop judging me!

17. This mess is not mine. I will not clean this up. Nope, nope, nope.

18. What's that smell? Oh... OH!

19. I like what I like and who I like. Your opinion is not needed if it's rude!

20. Passive aggressive notes. That is all.

The Ugly

21. What is that noise? Oh god... Where are my earplugs?!

22. Their alarm has been going off for 30 minutes... How are they not awake?!

23. Dirty Dishes. Bugs. JUST NO.

24. Why does this apartment smell like feet?!

25. *Roommate tries to hang out with your friends when you're trying to hang out with YOUR non-mutual friends*

26. How do you forget to flush the toilet?!

27. There's that smell again... CAN YOU NOT.

28. "Where is my favorite shirt?" *sees roommate wearing favorite shirt*

29. We. Are. Not. The. Same. Size.

30. You set the fire alarm off while I was asleep, prepare to die.

31. Why is the wine always gone?!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
