Everybody has taken a class that they don’t like, whether they admit it or not. The majority of those classes happen to be math classes. Whether it be algebra, trigonometry, or calculus, people have always grown frustrated with them to the point where they say “f*uck it, I’m failing.” Here are 10 thoughts every person has while taking a math test:
1. "Send help."
You know that feeling when you get to a question and you have no idea what you're doing? Yeah, been there, done that.
2. *Calculates grade if I skip this problem*
I think we have all been there at some point. Usually it happens towards the end of the test, and your brain is so fried that you can't even remember your own name. But you have to get through it, because your mom will kill you if you fail this test.
3. "Why am I in this class?"
For some people, they only have to take one math class and be done. Then there's the mathematics majors/minors people, who are basically asking for torture (I'm one of them).
4. "I should've studied *insert type of math problem* more."
Recently I was taking my first exam in calculus, where the majority of the problems were trigonometry based. I hate trig.
5. "Is it too late to drop out?"
Yes, it is too late to drop out, you've already paid hundreds of dollars for the class. But it is nice to dream, isn't it?
6. "I hate everything."
When you get so frustrated that you can't. Even. Think.
7. "We didn't go over this in class."
Either you're lying to yourself, or the teacher didn't actually go over it. You may never know the truth.
8. "I hate math."
As a mathematics minor, I can agree with this 100%. But I also love it, so it's kind of love/hate relationship.
9. "I don't know if this is right, but oh well."
When you just don't care anymore, and you just want to get it over with. Usually it is followed with "oh, I shouldn't have done that" when you see your grade.
10. "I need a nap."
Whether you're good at it or not, math tests are an exhausting feat comparable to a marathon. At first you're doing really well, you're confident that you'll finish strong. Then when you get about 3/4 of the way done, you realize you won't finish as strong as you thought, and will need a nap to make up for all of your lost energy.
