It feels like it was just yesterday when I was moving into my dorm room to begin my sophomore year of college and now I am packing the first wave of stuff that I don’t need any more to take home. It is crazy how fast time goes. I remember the beginning of the year so well and now the year is just about over. It is a sad thought to think of how in a few short weeks everyone will be packing up and moving home. For three months I won’t be surrounded by my friends and be able to go crazy on the weekends. I’ll be back home, working 40 hours a week and lounging around with my dog.

I’m pretty sure that 99.9 percent of the college population is having the same thoughts about the school year coming to an end as I am. Here are some thoughts that we all have when another year of school comes to a close.

1. "Didn’t we just move in?"

2. "I don’t want to leave my friends."

3. "I don't want to have to live under my parents’ roof again for three months."

4. "I guess it’s time to start looking for a summer job."

5. "I wonder if I can get my math grade up to an A in six weeks?"

6. "St. Patty’s day is over, so what do I even have to look forward to now?"

7. "Do you think that my parents will notice if I just don’t come home for the summer?"

8. "I can’t wait to have a house off campus so that I can live here in the summer."

9. "Is campus fun in the summer?"

10. "Wow, I’ve accumulated a lot of stuff this year."

11. "At least I’ll be back with my dog soon."

12. "Is getting good grades really worth it?"

13. "Let’s just go out every night in honor of the year being almost over."

14. "Day drinking weather is upon us."

15. "I may have to move back home, but at least I’ll get home-cooked meals again."

16. "Wow, this year went by fast."

17. "College, you’ve been great to me."

18. "I think that I’m going to add a minor so that I can stay an extra semester."

19. "I never want to leave school."

20. "Maybe I’ll become a townie one day."

21. "Can time please just slow down?"

Those are just some of the thoughts that cross my mind on a daily basis when I think about the school year ending. Being home is great, but there is just something about college that I don’t ever want to leave, even if it’s just for three months in the summer. I’m sure that this last month and half of school is going to fly by, but I will be sure to make the most of the limited time left. Every other college kid out there should too. Soon, we will all be home, working endless hours, and wishing that we were back at school, even if that meant that we had to take classes.

Thank you for being so good to me this year, college. Now, if you could slow down a little bit, that would be great.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
