I'm Sure I'm Not The Only One Who's Thought These Things

So I know I haven't been writing that much in the past couple of weeks but ya girl is back! Finals week was brutal but I made it through and I'm back to put a smile on your pretty little faces. Now that I've had the time to get used to being home for winter break, I thought I'd share my thoughts that I've had for the first week home. So without further a do, let's get this party started.

Day 1 (The Arrival)

1. *Steps off the coach bus in NYC* "Oh my God! Civilization! People! Tall Buildings!"

2. "It's time to hit the ground running! I got sh#t to do and people to see! Let's Go!"

3. "I'm going to Chipotle. Chipotle is my life."

4. "I'm going to Shake Shack. The burgers are angelic."

5. "Real Spanish food is a must."

Day 2

6. "I'm going to BBQ's.The BBQ ribs are a gift from heaven."

7. "Wow. Food is at the top of my list of being home but have you tasted dining hall food? Exactly"

8. "I gotta go see my best friend. It's about to get crazy up in NYC. They not ready for us."

9. "I gotta go visit my old skating program, Figure Skating in Harlem. I practically live there."

Day 3

10. "I am so excited for this break. I have so many things I want to do."

11. "I gotta go to the ice rink and see my synchro team just so I can steal some of their ice time.

12. "Wow. I have a lot of plans I want to do this break. Do I have the money for all of this?"

13. "You know what? I might have to pull it back with all these plans I have. I live on a fixed budget and NYC ain't cheap."

Day 4

14. "F&ck it. I'm out to see SING at the movies and grab a bite to eat at Chipotle with my best friend."

15. "Wow. I'm starting to get a little bored at home."

16. "Let me go visit my skating program again. That should keep me busy."

17. "Netflix! I'm gonna catch up on all of my shows."

Day 5

18. "Alright, my days are starting to get a little repetitive. This isn't fun."

19. "I need a job. I have a dollar to my name..."

20. "HA!!! That last point was funny. I'm too lazy for an actual job."

21. "I'm starting to miss my friends back at school."

22. "Wait how long is this break?"

23. "It's official. I'm bored. Let's get back to school. Not for the work, but for my friends."

So yeah. These are a couple of thoughts that I've had for the first week of being home. If you guys have any thoughts you wanna share, put them in the comments!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
