25 Thoughts All College Students Have At The Beginning Of A Semester

School is in session. Some students may be sad or even happy but what is known is that it's a new dawn for a new you. It's still the beginning of the new year so those resolutions may still be running strong. We may have made a resolution about staying on top of homework or actually paying attention in class. If you are strong, you may keep those resolutions, if you're weak it's good luck to you!

The start of the new semester means many things including new classes, new friends, and new adventures. We may be running around like chickens who heads just was chopped off but I believe that most of our thoughts at the beginning of the semester are basically the same.

1. Why am I up right now?

We probably will cry in bed for at least 10 minutes.

2. Why did I think that it would be a good idea to take an early class?

We always think that we can wake up super early and be productive with our day. We're always wrong.

3. Was I assigned any work over break?

LOL.

4. Nah, I'm not in high school anymore.

We're the cool cats cruising down the streets with stress-filled thoughts and probably some anxiety.

5. Do I want to look cute today?

Sweatpants are always an option.

6. Oh crap! I'm running late.

No matter how early we wake up, we are always somehow running late.

7. Where is this classroom?

Why are there so many doors and hallways?!

8. I swear, if I end up in the wrong class.

That would be the most embarrassing moment of my entire existence.

9. Hopefully, no one sits next to me.

I'm a loner. Leave me alone.

10. Am I in the right class?

These people don't seem like they belong in this class. Or am I the one who doesn't belong?

11. Oh no, that girl looked in my direction. Is she going to sit next to me? I better hide!

Probably the worst moment ever!

12. Annnnnd she did. Great.

Abort mission!

13. Why am I so anti-social?

Again, I am a loner. A lone wolf. Hear me howl!

14. This class is already boring.

Soooo boring!

15. I wonder what's happening on Twitter.

Just going to tweet my life away.

16. LOL. That's a funny picture of a cat.

Enough said.

17. Ok back to class.

It's either now or never homie.

18. Wait?! Is this class already over?

I just time traveled or something because that can't be possible.

19. I just spent this whole class looking at funny cat pictures.

I wouldn't want to spend it any other way.

20. Do we already have homework?

Nooooooo!!

21. I'm hungry.

I would probably be able to eat a horse.

22. I'm ready to go home and go back to sleep.

Nap time was never a joke.

23. Nevermind. Just kidding. I have to work.

I'm broke and want food.

24. The grind never stops!

Work hard, play hard. What can I say?

25. Can I drop out and become a stripper?

This is a very serious and legit career option.

Now, these are just a few of the thousands of thoughts that run through our minds. Syllabus week can either be super stressful or super easy. Either way, the school grind is slowly creeping up. Soon we will all be in the library running on little to no sleep and drinking only Red Bull. It's only a matter of time. So enjoy this freedom will you still can!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
