For as long as I can remember I have been told that I have inherent human rights; rights that were given to me the moment I came out of my mother's womb. So, for those of you (Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and every other Trump supporter) who continue to look past the word 'inherent' I encourage you to look it up. But wait, maybe I am not giving them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps they know what inherent human rights are, but simply don't care. Because if it doesn't affect you, what's the point?

This is the point: this has never been a race between Democrats and Republicans. It has been the struggle to fight for what is wrong and what is right.

To deny human beings entry into our beautiful and free country does one thing and one thing only: it shows the world that we are intolerant and hateful. Those of you who continue to follow this rhetoric, but who have called me "ignorant as hell" or "the problem"--you are the problem. I can and will confidently say that I am not the problem because I value inclusion. I value diversity. I value equality. And because these words so obviously do not resonate with Donald Trump, he can fuck off. The same goes for those of you who support this hate, but still carelessly claim "the way you treat people beyond differences, etc. will always triumph." Talk about uninformed turmoil.

To deny women the right to make choices for their own bodies is so unfortunate, yet not so surprising seeing as though females have fought for equal rights since the beginning of time. What concerns me the most about the topic of abortion is the shame and sadness women have to relive every time they hear someone say "you just did what was convenient" or "you're a baby killer." Giving up your unborn child is never convenient. It is never easy. For the old white males in the US and in the world who continue to tell women that they are undeserving of equal rights, fuck off. And to the women who shame other women for making this choice, you need to rethink who you are and where you came from. Think about your daughters, your nieces, your friends. Most of all, think about your mothers. It is inhumane and frankly psychotic to truly believe you have the right to tell me and my future daughters what we can and can't do with our bodies.

So as my thoughts come to a close (for the time being) I must say I am so disappointed. I have never felt so scared. I have never felt so angry that my country elected a sexual predator, a liar, a malignant narcissist, a shameful imbecile as the leader of the free world. I will continue to use my voice and infuriate the opposition because years from now all of you will be in our grandchildren's textbooks as the one's who stood for intolerance and xenophobia.

May all of you come to your senses as soon as possible. For now, fuck off and stay away from my reproductive system and stay away from my immigrant family.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
