It's never occurred to me how little people are told simple, positive things that they should be told everyday. In a world filled with such negativity and hate, there are just a few things I believe you should be told every day, just as a friendly reminder.
You matter.
There are at least 7 billion people on this planet and at least seven other people look like you, and thinking about those things often may make you feel like you don't matter, but you do. There are a number of people that only know the version of yourself that looks like you, and getting to know those 6,999,999,999 other people sounds like a lot of work.
You're beautiful.
I cannot stress this enough. It makes me sad how many people struggle with self-image and aren't told enough how great of a personality they have and how attractive they are. You're beautiful, inside and out. Never forget that.
You make someone smile.
Congrats! Sometimes the things you say are funny, and some of the things you didn't mean to say are also funny. Nonetheless, give yourself more credit for the funny things you do and say. You make someone smile with all that wit of yours.
You're cared about.
I know that sometimes if feels like you're not cared about and you're all alone, but just know that you're not. You have friends and a family that care about you and would do anything for you, no matter what. You're never as alone as you think you are. I promise. Just know that there is someone that is always going to be on your side.
You've loved.
People like you, a lot. A lot, a lot. They love you. Despite arguments and bickering with people you love, they're always going to love you.
Although these are things you're not told enough by other people, don't forget to be the one to tell yourself these things as well. Now, go on and slay, you beautiful, cared about, loved human-being.
