There are plenty of situations that require a simple "no." For example, an acquaintance asking you for a crazy favor, a creepy guy asking you out, a group asking you to finish a project, etc. However, there are also many things that we should "yes" to as much as we possibly can.
Here are seven things you should never say "no" to.
1. Traveling
Seriously, traveling will open up your eyes to so many different types of people, foods, cultures, etc. It may sound like a cliche, but traveling is one of those things that I truly believe makes life worthwhile. Whether it’s a small road trip across state, a family trip to a Caribbean island or backpacking around Europe, all of these experiences will create priceless memories and change your life, even if it's in the slightest way.
Recently I had the opportunity to go to St. Martin with my family; however, I had to miss a few days of classes. I was nervous about missing important content, quizzes, homework, etc. And although catching up in college is never easy, the trip was beyond worth it. Spending time with people you don’t get the chance to spend time with all the time and visiting a place you usually don’t get to see is irreplaceable.
2. Trying new foods
I (kind of) understand that there are picky eaters out there. Of course, not every type of food is for everybody. But as the old saying goes, "Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it." Trying a new food means that you are allowing yourself to step out of your comfort zone, and by stepping out of your comfort zone, you are growing and maturing. Best-case scenario, you fall in love with the food you have just tried. Worst-case scenario, you spit it out in your napkin -- it’s really not that big of a deal.
3. A cup of tea
Something so ancient and so simple can really change your mood. Stressed out? A cup of tea will help. Tired? English Breakfast Tea. Dieting? Try some green tea. Can’t fall asleep? That’s what chamomile and sleepy time teas are for.
4. Spending time with your grandparents
When you’re younger, your grandparents are probably viewed as a second and third set of parents. They’re simply adults, and all you know about them is that they are older than you. However, as we get older, we should all learn to really appreciate and love our grandparents. They have been around for a long time and probably have plenty of stories that you have not heard yet.

5. Petting a dog
Whether you have a dog, had a dog or never even owned a pet -- petting a dog can be really alleviating! They’re just so happy to have somebody touch them and smile. Seeing a random cute dog on the street and petting it could very well change your day and mood around.
6. Re-watching your favorite childhood movie
It may seem silly, and you may realize that your favorite movie is actually pretty bad, but nevertheless, it will make you feel nostalgic and hopefully appreciative for your childhood.
7. Studying an extra hour
OK, this one clearly is not as fun as the others. However, school is obviously important. An extra hour of studying for a test can help you further understand the subject and make taking the test much easier and hopefully rewarding. And nothing is more satisfying than that.
