From the moment that I can remember I have always been tall. Elementary school pictures I have been always in the back row standing front and center because I was the class giant. I only started doing sports because I was tall. But the funny thing is it wasn't until I got older that I realized I was a lot taller than some people I knew. In high school, most of the girls I knew were my height and above (I am friends with a girl who is 6'4"), but when I got to college it seemed that most of my female friends were all shorter than me... drastically. Now, that doesn't really bother me, it is actually shocking and kind of funny (I feel like Willy Wonka).
But if there is one thing that bothers me about being tall, it is the fact that people love to cause a scene to point out the fact that I am well above the average female height. These are just a few things that my fellow tall girls and I are just tired of hearing.
1.“ Wow, you are sooo tall!”
OMG wow, thanks for telling me about something I already know. If it weren’t for you I might have woke up this morning and forget how tall I am. How would you like it if every time you stood up I was just telling you “wow you are so average in height!” Not fun is it?

2.“Why are you wearing heels you are already so tall?”
I’m wearing heels because I want to. I don’t care if it looks like I could whisper to God, I am going to wear these heels! Why? Because I want to that’s why.
3.“Do you play basketball?”
I use to, but that is beside the point because I’m tall I have to play a sport that a lot of tall people play. What if I like bowling or softball? Can I not be tall playing those sports? What if I don’t even want to be an athlete? I might really like to paint. But, you probably wouldn’t know that because you are just assuming I play basketball.
4. “I don’t like tall girls.”
Well, guess what tall girls don’t like you. So my longs legs and I will get to stepping Mr. Shallow.

5.“So like how tall are you exactly?”
5’10 ½ and you still are not realizing that I hate answering this question.

6.“Don’t you think that is just a little too short?”
Actually, my friend this dress/skirt/shorts stops right at my fingertips which guess what is a part of the dress code. I have long legs I can’t help that I am not 5’2”

7.“Are you sure you want to wear heels”
Are you sure you want to breathe?

8.“Are your parents tall”
Does it matter whether they are or not?

9.“How hard is it to find a guy taller than you?”
I feel like this is one of the most annoying things to be said to a tall girl as if our height is stopping us from finding companionship.
10.“Where do you even buy your clothes?”
Honestly, I’m not too sure there is a place that is called the store and it pretty cool you should go there sometimes. They have a lot of clothes there you just have to try them on to see how they fit, and if you like the outfit enough you can buy it
