Let's face it we live in a patriarchy society. Have you ever noticed how many times a day you say sorry to someone or something that you did for no reason? It happens way too often. I catch myself saying it all the time. I am trying to be more aware of how often I say "I'm sorry" when I really don't need to. So, I change everyone to be more aware of when they say sorry when they did nothing wrong. So here are some examples of when girls and women should stop say sorry.

1. When someone, usually a guy, bumps into you.

NOO! The guy usually bumps into the girl, but the girl always says 'sorry'. Girl, you did nothing wrong, so next time, just keep on walking.

2. When asking for more food in the dining hall.

It's common knowledge that when girls go up to a food station in the Dining hall, the server usually gives more food to the big football players then any women. If you're hungry don't be afraid to ask for more food.

3. Saying sorry for coughing or sneezing in class.

You can't help a bodily function. Just say excuse me and move on.

4. Speaking in class.

Research has shown that teachers tend to give the boys in the class more time to speak during class then girls. You shouldn't be afraid to speak up in class and show off your intelligence.

5. Interrupting or cutting someone off.

This happens all the time and it's no ones fault that you might get a thought in your head when someone else is talking. Just acknowledge each other and move on.

7. Crying at any point.

The classic reason for a women not getting any job or promotion is that she might be too emotional. You know what, your emotions are important and anyone who tells you they aren't is dead ass wrong.

8. Saying "no".

Never be afraid to say 'no', it shows that you have a strong sense of self and know what your believe in.

9. Not looking put together.

No one is perfect. Everyone has their bad days and you shouldn't feel bad for not wanting to put makeup on or do your hair.

10. Time for yourself.

I know this as much as anyone else. Everyone needs their 'me' time, you can totally play that card whenever you feel you need it.

11. Being upset about something.

Emotions are the way humans show what they are feeling and without them our world would be very boring.

12. Asking for help.

This is something that many people struggle with and anyone would really cares about you will want to help you out.

14. Your insecurities.

They can be a bitch to battle on some days, but everyone has them.

15. Feeling loved.

Humans thrive off of the feelings of being cared for and being wanted. There is nothing wrong with that.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
