Having a guy as one of your best friends is great. He's always down for watching TV, eating pizza, drinking beer, and giving you the honest truth followed by a bear hug. Because of how amazing and important your guy best friend is, and not to mention for how much he puts up with, here are a few things you should thank him for.
Thank you for always being up for excessive amounts of take out.
On a rainy day with nothing to do, movies and take out sound perfect. Thank you for being the one to join me and order enough food to feed a small army. Also thanks for not judging the massive food baby and then food coma I have after eating three orders of Chinese food.
Thank you for giving the honest truth about that guy.
I am not always going to be able to realize a f*$# boy when I see him; cue your wisdom and telling me to drop him and move on. You’re trying to save me from being annoyed or hurt by him in the end. Thank you for keeping me from being upset and eating my weight in Ben and Jerry’s.
Thank you for agreeing with me when I judge the girl I don’t like.
There is always going to be some girl that I don’t like for either a legitimate or for a completely ridiculous reason. Either way, I am going to judge her for doing something as simple as saying hi to someone I know. That’s just my girl logic. Thank you for going along with it even if you don’t actually agree.
Thank you for letting me know when I am being a b!tch.
Sometimes I won’t notice when my resting b!tch face turns into me being an actual b!tch. When this happens, thank you for telling me to get my sh*t together.
Thank you for not judging me when I am in sweats with no make up on and my hair looks like it hasn't been washed in days.
There are going to be times when I go full lazy bum in front of you, and knowing that you are not going to judge me for wearing the same ratty sweatshirt and sweatpants all the time or looking close to death, due to lack of make up, is great. In return, I won't judge you for wearing your favorite t-shirt that should have been thrown out a decade ago.
Thank you for telling me to calm down and that it is going to be okay.
I don’t know what it is, but sometimes that chill attitude you bring to our friendship is exactly what I need to bring me back down to reality. Thank you for telling me that I can’t control everything and should just let some things happen. You keep me from getting completely stressed out and going crazy.
Thank you for walking me home after the party.
Thank you for escorting me home even though you had a chance with the super hot girl you’ve been trying for. Extra thank you for dealing with drunk me. You get me home safe and keep me from tripping in my heels; you the real MVP.
Thank you for making me laugh when it looks like I’m about to cry.
A girl crying is weird, no matter what the situation. Thank you for stepping in when you see the first lip quiver or watery eyes and making a penis joke or telling me something embarrassing that happened to you. Laughter beats tears every time.
Thank you for honestly telling me if my outfit makes me look fat.
Although most guys dread being asked this question, thank you for being honest. In return, I promise not to get mad. Chances are I am trying to make someone jealous or impress someone with my outfit that night. Thank you for ruling out outfits 1,2,3,4,6,and 7 and helping me find the one that looks the best.
Thank you for teaching me about sports.
Thank you for giving me cliff notes on the rules of football, hockey, baseball, and golf; without it, I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the game when we watch Sunday, Monday, and Thursday night football. Not to mention telling me the rules will save you from having to answer all my questions while you are trying to watch your favorite team pull off a Hail Mary pass.
Thank you for being my date to everything.
Thank you for constantly coming to date parties, socials, formals, weddings, etc. with me and for posing for endless pictures until I find one I like. Thank you for always matching your bow tie to my dress and putting up with my embarrassing dance moves.
Thank you for letting me borrow t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc.
It’s a known fact that guys have comfier clothes. Thank you for letting me borrow them and not getting mad when I take too long to give them back.
Thank you for always being there for me no matter what.
