13 Things to Keep in Mind as a Contestant on The Bachelor

To some, The Bachelor on ABC is just a show of 25 (for the lack of a better word) animated women who want the fame and fortune of being on TV. To most, it is one of the greatest shows to air in the history of forever. America's most eligible bachelor, the tall, dark and handsome Ben Higgins, takes on a crazy ride to find his "wife," even though we're all well aware the couple must get engaged at the end of the show, and statistically the couple almost always ends up breaking up. After watching many seasons, I realized that The Bachelor has taught me several important things that I could use if I was ever on the show.

1. If someone seems crazy, they probably are.

During Chris' Season, Ashley was not afraid to be herself, to say the least.

2. Drinking during the first impression is NEVER a good idea.

One too many drinks usually ends with a contestant in the pool.

3. Ben Higgins is a beautiful being.

The bachelor is always attractive but look at this face!

4. A "chicken enthusiast" is most likely a red flag.

A chicken enthusiast...I sense an Ashley in Ben's season.

5. When you come out of the limo, do something crazy and memorable, not weird.

Singing is uncomfortable, just say your name and move on!

6. If you are chosen to be on the Bachelor, make up some BS soppy, romantic statement because A) you look good to the viewers and B) the Bachelor will love it.

All we want to hear is how much you love the bachelor...hearts won across America!

9. Don't stress over pointless things such as "you didn't look at me once in the rose ceremony".

*Cough, Cough* Lace.

10. Open your mouth as wide as possible when acting surprised so you can become an awesome meme.

Warning: This is sarcastic, please do not. This picture still haunts my memory.

11. Cry a lot to make New Jersey look bad.

Being from Jersey, I was so excited to know Ashley I was from Wayne. However, she cried a tad too often.

12. The relationship probably will not last.

It is the Bachelor so the fame and fortune may get their heads. Just enjoy it while it lasts.

13. Lastly, if you don't get the rose, go up, steal it, and run. You are sure to stay another rose ceremony.

This would be my strategy if I thought I was getting sent home.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
