With exams and endless projects all due in the coming weeks leading up to Christmas, it's hard to get into the holiday spirit. If you can find sometime within your busy work schedule, these are some sure way to get you in the Christmas feels:
1. Go see Santa at the mall.
It doesn't matter if you're not a kid anymore, this is always such a fun activity to do. You don't necessarily have to get your picture taken with him, but just seeing him will remind you of all the wonderful Christmas memories you have when you were a kid.
2. Decorate your dorm room with hand crafted decorations.
Decorating for Christmas is always my favorite part of the holiday season. Who cares about dorm room fire hazards? (Just kidding, please don't make your RA mad.)
3. Put up a mini Christmas tree.
Again, try not to violate any fire hazards when doing so, but the sight of a Christmas tree will be sure to get you in the holiday feels.
4. Go see Christmas lights.
This is hands down, my favorite tradition. Even if going to see Christmas lights constitutes as driving through a well-lit neighborhood, it is still such a festive experience.
5. Have a Christmas movie marathon.
Home Alone will always be one of my favorite Christmas movies. Make sure you include it in your marathon!
6. Wear a tacky Christmas sweater for the heck of it.
Tacky Christmas sweaters are one of the best Christmas traditions ever created. It's not possible to be stressed about school work when wearing one, so throw that bad boy on and bring on the Christmas feels.
7. Make a gingerbread house with your friends.
This is a tradition that after twenty years of life, I still haven't mastered yet. I still think it's really fun to try and pretend you won't eat all the candy accessories before decorating the house.
8. Go to other dorm rooms and sing Christmas carols.
Everyone is stressed during this time of year, so why not go spread some more Christmas cheer?
9. Host a gift exchange or secret Santa.
These can be funny exchanges or actual good presents, just make sure you know what type of exchange it is before you buy a good or bad present!
10. Volunteer at soup kitchen or non-profit.
Volunteering is actually one of the best ways to get into the Christmas spirit. It is such a special experience to see how sacrificing your time can benefit others.
11. Bake some delicious Christmas treats.
There is nothing better than hot chocolate and Santa shaped cookies to get you in the Christmas feels!
12. Blast Christmas music at top volume.
Yes, Justin Bieber, all I want for Christmas is you, too.
13. Ace those finals and go home to a stress-free break.
We got this guys! Just three weeks until we're home free!
