10 Things You Should Thank Your Partner In Crime For
Serena Pane

Dear Partner in Crime,

Well, you're a terrific best friend and the best partner in crime I could ask for. We do all the craziest things together and I love everything about it. So, I just wanted to say a few thanks to you because without you I wouldn't be my fun, crazy self.

1. Thanks for being honest.

Thanks for always being the person who doesn’t care what you say, because you were just telling the truth. From telling me my hair doesn’t look brushed, to that dress is hideous, it means a lot because you didn’t let me go out looking like a fool.

2. Thanks for all the Jam sessions.

If I was just in the mood to drive around, you were the one that was always down to join. We blast everything from Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” to Khia’s “My Neck My Back” and sang terribly off key to other cars and construction workers. We just continued driving straight and hoped for the best that Siri will get us back home.

3. Thanks for all the bruises.

Thanks for punching me whenever you felt like it, and you knew it wasn’t one hit and over with. Once you started, I started and the only way we would stop is when our abs started forming from laughing way too much or whenever someone said "enough".

4. Thanks for changing my bad days to good days.

When I was down, you were always the one who picked me up and knew exactly how to make me feel better. You always know what to say when I need a pick me up. By the end of the day, I was crying from laughing so hard.

5. Thanks for all the snapchat selfies.

Thanks for always using the snapchat filters on yourself and kept me looking like a boy next to the goddess princess with butterflies flying around her head. But, when you wanted to take a good selfie... the puppy filter was the go to.

6. Thanks for being as competitive as I am.

Thanks for all the pep talks at the starting line right before either one of us raced. Most of the time we competed against each other, and pushed each other to finish in first or second because both of us hate losing to other people. However, when it came to losing to each other, it just pushed us to get better.

7. Thanks for understanding my sarcastic remarks.

You understand my language, you know when I’m serious and when I am messing around. You’re the only one who gets me when I am that sarcastic, and in return you just come right back with the sass.

8. Thanks for all the sleep overs.

Thanks for coming over, and just never leaving. Thanks for sharing a bed with me on overnight trips when no one else wanted too (due to the fact I am the worlds most obnoxious sleeper). But, you were the real MVP.

9. Thanks for loving my family as much I love yours.

You know how crazy my family is, yet you still love them like they’re your own. When my older brother comes around, you try to start a conversation even though he ignores you every time. You get excited when my mom gets excited and it makes her smile. Thanks for taking me to Chuckie Cheese with your fam for your brother’s birthday, and allowing me to act like a kid again running around with you and picking fights with seven year olds.

10. Thanks for being you.

Your hilarious sassy personality gets me through the day. No one can stand us together because our laughs are just annoying and we never stop laughing. I say I hate you all the time, but you know I love you. I just want to say thanks for being you, and being my partner in crime.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
