These years go by fast, and if I could do it over again, this is what I'd do differently.

1. Take it in

One thing that I took completely for granted was the last few months of high school. I found myself constantly saying to my friends how much I couldn't wait for this year to be over. Although the college has already been some of the best times yet, I still wish I took a breath and enjoyed the last few months back home. Graduation was an event where I was thinking mainly about the future rather than the present. Looking back, I realize I should've been enjoying this time with my friends and thinking about all of the good aspects of high school.

2. Don't stress

Everything happens for a reason. As the school year is coming to an end, make sure to remember that whatever college you end up in will be the right fit for you. I went through a rollercoaster in the second half of the year with regards to where I was going to school the following year.

Despite this, I definitely ended up exactly where I was supposed to and I couldn't be happier. Also. Drop the competition. I don't know about other places, but where I went to high school, the competitiveness of who was going where was completely overwhelming. Just don't think about anyone else and you will be ok.

3. Enjoy high school sports

Unless you're planning on playing a sport in college, take in the vibe of high school sports. One thing that I crave here in college is playing on a sports team. Although practices are literally the worst, there is nothing better than most of your high school coming to games to support you.

Also, the team dynamic is something that can't be beaten. Try to join as many intramurals or even clubs as you can to try and stay active!

4. Please, people, cuddle with your dogs

One thing I really really miss is my dogs. Seriously. Don't take them for granted. I knew I was going to miss them, but not nearly to this extent. Cuddle with them as much as you can and give them love or you will really regret it.

5. Hang out with your siblings

Although this is common knowledge, I definitely did not do it enough. Once I got back from Thanksgiving break, I truly couldn't spend enough time with my two sisters. I realized how much I truly missed them and I can't wait to see them again. Take advantage of the time you have left and enjoy your company with them for the time that you can.

6. Get excited!!

I was so completely nervous before school. I had absolutely no clue what to expect and honestly, I was constantly anxious. You're about to enter some of the greatest years of your life so just remember that and get pumped!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
