Sometimes, even when you grow up and get older, some things never change. The things you love become a fond memory of the past. And you tend to love going back to them because you know how they make you feel safe. It's funny how quite the opposite is true as well. Some things never change, just like the things that scare the crap out of you still can - especially when there's an adult version.

1. Spiders

Okay, so this one doesn't have a child vs adult version but they're always scary. I don't care how much you mature in life - mentally, emotionally, physically - when a giant spider starts crawling around, you try to kill the damn thing. And if you're one of those nice people who try to put a cup over the spider and bring it outside, Lord bless your soul. You're a much better person than the rest of us. I'm one of those who throws shoes at it or tries to burn the damn house down because I will NOT go to bed and sleep peacefully without knowing the thing is dead or gone.

2. Nighttime

When you're a kid and you try to go to bed at night, sometimes it's scary. You have nightmares or think there are monsters in your closet or under your bed. You call for your parents and need a nightlight because the darkness is just a little too scary. When you get older, it's not necessarily the night that scares you - but all the worries and damn stress in your life. Hell, by the time you're 25, you're paying rent and working and trying to keep your life together. You try to go to bed and can't, but not because of monsters under your bed, but the stress of everything else going on. You lay there awake wondering if you took all the colored clothes our of your laundry so you don't look like a pink marshmallow in the morning. It's normal, promise.

3. Jack in the box

Being a child and turning the handle on a Jack In The Box can be one of the freaking scariest games you play. Everyone's sitting there in anticipation and you're cranking the damn thing and everyone's giggling and you're waiting for the scary clown man to jump out at you. I don't care what anyone says but that thing is not fun. You know what isn't fun as an adult? One of those damn Pillsbury pop open pastry things. You take off the wrapping and it tells you to push a spoon on the seams until it pops. In those 30 seconds, that is the adult Jack In The Box. It is the worst game ever and all you're trying to do is cook stupid dinner for yourself or loved ones. Why is adulting so hard?

4. Sunday

Sundays are scary because it brings on a new week. Like nighttime, you reach a point during Sunday night where you start to think of all the homework you had as a kid. If you didn't get it done on Friday or Saturday, you have to cram it all in during Sunday or Sunday night and that's scary. Then you reach adulthood and it's the Sunday Scaries all over again. You think of all the work you didn't accomplish last week or the deadlines you have this upcoming week and boom - fear. It's all the same and honestly, I'd rather go back to homework. It was easier to get done or make up.

Life is hard no matter what age you're at, it's all about perspective. Some things never change when you grow up and to be honest, that's okay. Roll with it and good luck the next time a spider runs by, it's nighttime and you're laying awake, you're trying to cook a nice dinner or Sunday hits you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
