Everyone has heard the age-old story of middle children: they are often forgotten. It's sometimes tough being the one stuck in the middle — you aren't the oldest, but you also aren't the baby. You're just sort of "there" in the middle. Although there are much worse things that could happen in this world, being a middle child can be a real struggle. This article is not an attack on the parents of middle children out there, but instead a call out to the middle kids who sometimes feel like no one understands them. I am here, I understand and hopefully, together we can laugh at the hilariously tragic life that is being a middle sibling.
1. Your relatives always call you by your older sibling's name.
2. Your siblings have way more pictures of themselves than you do on display around the house.
3. You always get blamed for the evil stunts of your younger sibling, but your older sibling never takes the fall.
4. You learn to give in to the stubborn ways of older and younger siblings and just go with the flow.
5. Your achievements receive underwhelming responses since they aren't the first to be done in the family, but won't be the last either.
6. Your mom often forgets to tell you when she is leaving the house with the youngest one.
7. You look up to your older sibling, but they never notice since you aren't seen as the true youngest sibling.
8. Your younger sibling doesn't see you as the authority that they see their oldest sibling as.
9. You are always the awkward-looking one in family photos. Not the most mature old one, but also not the adorable young one.
10. You have to constantly remind yourself that the middle of the sandwich is always the best part in order to keep your sanity.
11. Despite the complaining and joking, you secretly love being able to be both the older and the younger sibling.
