10 Lovely Reasons Why Life Is More Exciting While Married

Marriage is a wonderful thing. That probably sounds cliché, outdated, and unrealistic, but it’s true - or can be. No marriage is perfect and many are far from it, but there are still many things to love about being married. I’m not saying every marriage is like this (every relationship is unique), but here are some things I love about my marriage that you may enjoy in yours as well.

1. Always having a best friend.

I always wanted a best friend. I had some good friends throughout my life, but never one person that I did everything with and talked about everything with. My husband is the best friend I’ve ever had. We do everything together and talk about nearly everything. I love having someone that I can share anything with. I see marriage as always being with your best friend.

2. You’re not alone.

I used to often feel alone like I had no one to talk to about certain things. With my husband, I feel much less alone. Sure I still have moments, but I know he is always there to talk to, and that makes a huge difference.

3. Lots of laughs.

We have a lot of fun together, countless moments only we share that make us laugh. Being together is fun and makes life enjoyable. We have all these inside jokes since we spend so much time together.

4. Waking up next to the one you love.

Yes, that may sound sappy, but it’s true. I didn’t know how amazing this was until I experienced it for myself. My bed used to be a place that was lonely, now it’s a place of love and warmth. I wake up and my best friend is right there and it makes everything better. It makes my day.

5. Having someone who knows you.

It’s amazing how little most people we interact with know us, truly know us. Of course, even married people don’t know everything about each other, but they often come close to it. My husband knows me better than anyone. He knows when I’m upset and knows how to help cheer me up. He knows what I like and what I can’t stand, he understands me better than anyone else I know.

6. Having someone to do life with.

It’s nice having someone to face the everyday challenges of life with. We can solve problems together rather than having to figure it out alone. Sure, it’s not always as simple having to compromise and work through your different opinions, but it can help you see multiple sides of a situation.

7. Having someone to look out for you.

When you’re sick, it’s nice having someone there to look out for you, ask you how you feel, hold you, make tea and chicken noodle soup for you. It makes it easier to get through knowing that you’re not alone, someone is there caring for you.

8. Having someone to care for.

I love that I have someone who is mine, who I get to look out for, care for, and comfort. It brings meaning and joy to my life. I love doing little things like making tea for him or doing laundry for him and seeing the smile on his face.

9. Life is a little less daunting

When you have someone by your side it makes taking risks and making big decisions in life a little less frightening because you know you’re not alone. You know it’ll be okay no matter what happens because you have each other. Buying a house, traveling across the country, paying the bills, getting a new job become a little less daunting because you’re doing it together.

10. Someone to have fun with

You have someone to eat with, to go to the movies with, to go for walks with, to work out with, to go grocery shopping with. Even monotonous activities can become fun because you are doing it together.

I love my husband. He is my best friend, we do everything together, and sure we might have our differences of opinions now and then, but life is so much more exciting with him. Being married beats being alone by far. It is sharing your life with someone you love.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
