8 A.M. classes, being broke, FAFSA, dining hall food, just to name a few!

It's Thanksgiving season! It's the time we contemplate about the many, many things were are thankful for. As college students, we have learned to be appreciative of even the littlest things.

Not to ruin the mood, but let's talk about the things we are definitely NOT thankful for as college students. Shall we begin?

1. 8 A.M. classes

There is nothing worse than being one of the unlucky ones that didn't get into later classes, so you have no choice but sign up for the 8 A.M.

2. Being broke

The two types of broke students: the one who complains about not having any money but still has several hundred dollars in their savings and the one who barely has five bucks.

3. Paying more than a hundred dollars for an access code

You get the online textbook AND the homework. Yeah, buying the homework you'll probably forget to do.

4. 10-page papers

Remember dreading to write your English essay in high school because the minimum was 3 pages? Now you're stuck with writing 10 pages!

5. Unreliable TAs

Asking them for help just to get told to look it up because they don't know the answer either. Thanks, dude! If only Lip Gallagher could be my TA.

6. Mandatory attendance

You thought having class at 8 A.M. was the worst? Try having attendance worth 10 percent of your grade while your quizzes are only five percent.

7. Professors that just read from PowerPoints

If it wasn't because of the mandatory attendance, you would never show up to class when you could just read the slides yourself online.

8. Also, professors that tell you to teach yourself the material

That's right. It's all you.

9. Slow Wi-Fi

More than 20,000 kids who are always on some kind of device sharing the same Wi-Fi? Oh, man.

10. People stopping you to talk to you about their student organizations

You avoid eye contact. You pretend not to notice them. You even find a different way to take. You don't want to be mean, but you just need to get to wherever you need to be.

11. Fuckboys

Ladies, need I say more?

12. Communal bathroom

If you don't figure out everyone's shower schedule, you'll be waiting for ages.

13. Communal coin-laundry

If you're not fast enough to get your laundry, chances are it might have been taken out by someone else.

14. Someone stealing your unassigned assigned seat

You know, most of the class pick and establish their seats by the first week, but there are always those people who screw it up and steal someone's spot.

15. Signing up for classes and not getting some of them

Trust me, you're not the only one who uses RateMyProfessor to find the best teachers. Good luck getting into the classes with those teachers!

16. FAFSA

May the odds be in your favor!

17. Getting stuck behind a tour group when you're running late to class

And then, the tour guides mistaking you for being in their group. Like, no, an actual student here trying to get to class.

18. Unannounced cancelled class

When you get enough motivation to show up just to find out there's no class and your teacher didn't even bother sending out a mass email.

19. Dining hall food

Depending on the day, it could be disgusting or tolerable. But, do you really have a choice though when you paid for a meal plan?

20. Spending your own money instead of using your student card

Don't worry, you're not the only one who's taken their I.D. out and tried to pay with it at other places outside campus.

21. Not being 21 yet

All your friends try to convince you to get a fake, but you haven't aged since sixth grade. No way you can get away with it.

Life in college can be rough. The things we hate listed above are just 21 of the countless things we can think of. But, hey, at the least the good stuff balances it out, right?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
