Most of us nowadays are frequently, if not always, on our cellphones. While it can sometimes be a distraction, it can also come in handy. There are multiple apps out there that were made for the benefit of college students, though they may not always get the recognition they deserve. Need help keeping track of your assignments? There's an app for that! Can't stay motivated to stay away from social media or Netflix long enough to study? There's an app for that! Worried about keeping track of your finances now that you're at school? There's an app for that, too! These three apps are vital for any college student, whether you need them to stay on track or just give yourself a little peace of mind.

My Study Life

If you're like me and find yourself to be a champion procrastinator or just plain ol' forgetful with those assignments, My Study Life is a must-have. My Study Life is an app that allows you to keep track of your classes, your exam schedules, your homework assignments and more at the touch of a button. Better yet, it's free. Not only is it available on Androids, iPhones and Windows phones, but it is also available at online at MyStudyLife.com.

Any changes made on the website or your phone automatically sync up to make sure you are always on the same page. If you are like me and fear you will forget to add in your assignments, do what I do! On the first day of class, add in your assignments right off of your syllabus as your professor reviews them with you. It may seem a bit time consuming, but it will be more than worth it in the long run!

Self Control

This app can be both your best friend and your greatest enemy. For those of us with the itchy fingers to check Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram every few seconds minutes when we are supposed to be putting our attention into studying, this app is the will power we lack. Self Control allows you to block yourself out of the apps on your phone, as well as websites on your computer, that may prevent you from getting your work done.

The apps and websites you chose to block are entirely up to you. Once you turn Self Control on and set the timer, it is all over. Your access to those programs will be denied until the countdown is done. Restarting your device or uninstalling the program won't save you in your desperation. Your only choice is to be productive (or well, that's what we hope!). Self Control works on Mac operating system and is also available free in the Android App store.

Mint

For anybody that needs a bit of help staying organized and aware of how they spend their money, Mint is exactly what you need. This free app allows you to sync your various bank accounts to your phone and keep track of exactly how much money you spend and where you spend it. Mint keeps all of your accounts in one place and can build you a budget based on your spending patterns by categorizing your expenses. The app operates with bank-level security and can tell alert you whenever there appears to be suspicious activity on your account. Even for students who feel confident in managing their own money, Mint can give you that extra reassurance and allow you to rest easy.

Whether this is your first year at school or you are a returning student, these three apps can help keep you organized and on task for a successful year!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
