Summertime in Idaho is such an amazing time. Even though we aren't next to a beach, there are plenty of other things that are 10 times better.

1. Float the River

Floating the river during summertime is definitely one of the most popular activities among the people of Boise. It's a great activity to do on a really hot day.

2. Hike Jump Creek

Hiking Jump Creek is a short but fun way to spend a few hours. Located in Marsing, ID, this hike takes you to a secluded waterfall! Hike to the top or the bottom of the fall, either way, it is just as beautiful.

3. Whitewater Raft in the Payette River

If you're feeling really adventurous and wanting to get a sense of an adrenaline rush, whitewater rafting is a great way to do that on a hot day!

4. Visit Shoshone Falls

Did you know that Shoshone Falls is 45 feet higher than Niagara Falls? This beautiful waterfall is located outside of Twin Falls, ID. It is truly a sight for sore eyes.

5. Visit Silverwood Amusement Park

Silverwood is the largest amusement park in the Pacific Northwest, and it's a great way to spend the day with your family. If you're up to it, there is RV parking, so you can also camp.

6. Hike Table Rock

Hiking Table Rock is a great way to get some exercise, and be rewarded with a beautiful view of the city after your workout. It's a very popular activity to do in Boise, day or night.

7. Go Boating at Lucky Peak/Swim at Sandy Point

Boating at Lucky Peak reservoir is a great way to be out on the water with your friends and family. If you don't have a boat, don't worry! There's a man-made beach that you can hang out and have a picnic at!

8. Visit the Zoo

Check out Zoo Boise's website for certain events they have going on. They have an awesome butterfly exhibit where the butterflies can land on you, and if you make it on time, you can have the chance to feed the giraffes.

9. Go Paddle Boating

Paddle boating in Julia Davis Park is a fun way to go out and enjoy a nice day with anyone! The paddle boats are located in a big pond, and there's always tons of wildlife around!

10. Visit Redfish Lake

There is so much to do at Redfish Lake! Whether you're looking for leisure or adventurous activities, Redfish Lake has anything you're wanting.

11. Visit McCall, ID

Personally, McCall, ID is probably my all-time favorite city to visit. There is so much to do. I love walking around the small town, getting ice cream from Ice Cream Alley, and laying out on the beach. McCall is especially fun on the Fourth of July!

12. Go to the Fair

The fair always comes toward the end of summer, and it really the last bit of fun before school starts again!

13. See a Production at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival

Seeing a play at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival is such an amazing experience. Sometimes the actors come out into the audience and interact with you. It's a great way to get some entertainment and have a picnic while you're at it.

The possibilities are endless! There are so many places that you can go out and adventure, hike, fish, whatever your heart desires. Go out and spend your summer exploring Idaho.
