To the woman who does it all -- I wish I could understand how you can do what you do. Sometimes, I think you have eight arms because a normal human can’t do what you do. And what is it that you do? Pretty much everything. You are, basically, superwoman in my eyes, never saying no to help someone who needs you.
I think it’s about time you get recognized for the life that you live. A life of true selfless love. There are so many things I love about you. So many things, so it’s hard to narrow them down. But here are the top 10 reasons why I idolize you, and hope to be all that you are.
1. You manage to always put your own wants and needs aside, in order to help everyone else. Even if that means running on no sleep.
2. You never fail to brighten the day of those around you. Hugging is always your go-to.
3. You’re not afraid to tell it like it is. Even if that person doesn’t want to hear the truth.
4. You always put your best foot forward, no matter how much you want to hold that grudge.
5. You are a source of encouragement to everyone who you encounter, believing more in them than they do in themselves.
6. You believe the best ending to a day is watching a movie on the couch with a glass of wine.
7. You love unconditionally, even if that love isn’t always reciprocated
8. You believe in miracles, even when everyone else tells you they don’t exist.
9. You never say no to a dance battle. Any time, any place, any song.
10. You manage to do all of this, while rocking some killer high heels.
How you do it all, I will never understand. But I guess that’s OK -- I’ll just watch it all by your side. For considering we’re related, maybe eventually I’ll catch on.
I know I don’t say thank you quite as much as I should. But thank you for all that you do. Every last bit. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on, my car karaoke partner, my shopping buddy, and my best friend. So to the woman who does it all, Mom, I thank you.
