The Winner Of The Presidential Election
ABC News

It's no secret that this has been the most heated, controversy-filled, corrupted election that has ever happened in the United States. One candidate has a hot temper, no filter, and no experience, the other is being investigated by the FBI and has lied countless times to the American public. It is so easy to get carried away in the headlines and CNN broadcasts. It seems like everyone has chosen their sides on the argument. Everyone is willing to share their opinion on any social media platform or public space they can. Some people base their views off of their faith and what they believe is true. Others simply vote for what they think is best for America. Within all of the chaos and confusion, American citizens cast their ballots.

The real winner, God.

Throughout this election, many, MANY people have stated that "if ____ gets elected, I'm moving to Canada" or "if ____ gets elected, America is going to fail for sure". However, throughout all of this madness, our Lord has a plan and He will still reign no matter if Trump or Clinton (or a third party candidate) become President.

In the months leading up to the election, I have felt like many people have lost their values in faith due to the fact that they are fighting for the "better" candidate's opinion. Let's be honest. The candidates suck. We are reminded that we should leave our trust in the Lord to carry out His plan, no matter what. Even if that means having a President that will not support Christian values. Psalm 146:3-4 says "Do not trust in nobles, in man, who cannot save. When his breath leaves him, he returns to he ground; on that day his plans die." We as Christians know that we cannot place our trust in a President. Throughout this election, there has been so much anger and hatred. No matter what leader is elected, we are called to love one another, even our enemies (Luke 6:27).

As the election has drawn near, many worries have risen to the surface. People fear that Christian values will be lost if one candidate is elected. Others fear that riots and protests will destroy America if the other is appointed to be President. In the Bible, Martha is troubled with her many worries in life. She is reminded in Luke 10:41-42 that no matter how many worries she has only "One thing is necessary". I feel as though if we apply this verse to our thoughts on the election, that we as Christians will find peace in knowing that no matter who is the new President elect on the morning of November 9th, our God still reigns.

Our God is in control today, tomorrow and forever. No matter who becomes President. The Bible tells us to "say to those with fearful hearts, 'Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you" (Isaiah 35:4). How calming is it to know that the Lord our God is in control and that we are promised eternal life? America is ruled by the Lord Almighty and He is here to save, despite our President.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
