The Two Weeks Before Christmas Break, As Told By "Mean Girls"

Christmas break is here!......well, almost. In two weeks, you'll be sitting by a fire drinking cocoa and watching all of the cheesy Hallmark holiday movies that your heart can handle. But first, finals. And the stress, despair, pimples, and late-night gut-busters that come with it. This is one of the worst times of the entire year, and it's next to impossible to adequately capture in words, so I'll let Mean Girls do the work this time:

1. When your professor assigns 2 papers, a project, a quiz, and a final exam...all before the end of the semester.

2. When you try to set a realistic weight loss goal for that pre-holiday stuff-your-face fest....

3. ...But then just end up late night eating and stress-snacking 24/7.

4. Trying to cover up the inner stress you're feeling by blasting as many holiday tunes as possible and pretending it's all fine.

5. Calculating how many A's you need to get in order to save your GPA.

6. The added stress means that your zits deserve their own zip codes.

7. Just wanting all of the sadness to be overwith.

8. Sweatpants and baggy shirts become a lifestyle.

9. Looking at all of the homework you have to do for the week.

10. Knowing that you have 27 cents in your bank account, your motivation is nonexistent, and your GPA is plummeting right before your eyes...

11. Checking your grades on blackboard...

12. But in the end, knowing you get a few weeks of nothing but relaxation and family time.

Hang tough, man. We'll all get through this together. One day at a time.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
