In college, it seems like if we aren't glued to Netflix watching the show that everyone is talking about, we are wasting our free time. However, we must not forget the wonderful movies that got us through all the different "feels" of our youth. So, in honor of these awesome films, here are a few titles that might have slipped your mind but must definitely be popped in the DVD player or ordered on Amazon as soon as you finish reading this.
1. "What a Girl Wants"
Regardless of your feelings of the "new and improved" Amanda Bynes, this is the good ol' days when she was great and you wanted to be just like her. Amanda embarks on a journey to London to find the father she's always known of but never gotten to meet. Henry, her father, finds his world turned upside down when he must pick between his life as a high society diplomat or the father he never knew he was but always wanted to be. If you are wanting a feel-good love story without too big of an emotional commitment, you've got to watch it and remember the times when spiked hair was hot and a million multi-colored, glittery bangles made all the difference to an outfit.

2. "Stick It"
This was the perfect fix for the times when your teen or pre-teen angst was all too real and you were feeling extra edgy. Haley Graham is a previous nationally ranked gymnast who walked out of The World competition right as she was about to win Gold for team USA. Haley must figure a way out of her recent arrest and, by court order, ends up back into the gymnastics world she hates. Full of awesome one-liners and killer gymnastic action, you'll wonder how you haven't watched this in five plus years. On a day where you're needing an extra dose of Green Day, Blink 182 and some girl power, press play and remember all the reasons you loved your pop-punk princess days. You're welcome.

3. "The Lizzie McGuire Movie"
Come on. You knew it was coming. While this is probably the cheesiest of movies you've seen it a while, it has that magical power of nostalgia that takes you back to the days when you wanted to be best dressed and date Ethan Craft. P.S. have you googled him recently? If you haven't, do yourself a favor and totally google him. Anyway, "The Lizzie Movie" has all the adventure, love and feeling that anything can happen, because "This is What Dreams Are Made Of."

4. "Aquamarine"
Y'all. This movie. Sara Paxton, JoJo, and Emma Roberts. Need I say more? Also, another P.S. for you, if you haven't heard JoJo's new singles, do yourself another favor and download those while you're at it. Anyway, "Aquamarine" brings back that childhood desire of being a mermaid, but makes it super cool and totally acceptable. Sarah Paxton befrinds Jojo and Roberts after "swimming away from home" and, of course, catches the eye of the hottest lifeguard on the beach, and you know the rest. This movie is the best combination of all your pre-teen feels, and makes you wish your outfit and date to the dance where still the biggest problems you had to deal with. Just watch it, okay. You can thank me later.

5. "The Princess Diaries"
I will never forget going to see this movie at the theater. I was day-dreaming for weeks hoping that some long lost relative would come to my doorstep and rescue me from my normal, non-princess life. After watching this one, there was no doubt in your mind that all of your dreams could totally come true. Plus, who couldn't relate to all of Mia's struggles with insecurity, feeling invisible, wanting to date the coolest guy in school, and being a part of the popular crowd? Mia wins in the end, beating all of the obstacles in her way, and leaves you with stars in your eyes and hope for your future. This was the all-around feel-good movie of 2001. Watch this movie, and it is sure to take you back to simpler times and make you wonder how you ever forgot this was in your DVD collection.
