"Why?"

"Aren't you part of College Republicans?"

During the past few weeks I've gotten these 2 questions a lot. Most people who know me know that I grew up in a VERY Conservative Republican house hold so they were very confused on why I wasn't going to vote for Trump. At this point I probably have confused a few of you on why I'm still not voting for Trump after saying my family was very Conservative. Just because we are conservative doesn't mean I like or can even agree with the candidate we have nominated. Honestly, I'm genuinely scared to already have him as a President Why you may ask? Throughout my high school years and college years thus far Ive had a lot of my friends fall into the PoC, LGBT, or woman categories.

With the things that Trump has been saying and some of the stuff he believes, I fear for their lives every day. I fear that when/if he is/were president the racial tension, trans/homophobia issues, and rape problem will only get worse. Why you may ask again? Trump, from what I've seen, assumes all Mexicans are rapist/ aren't the best people, or are lazy or are stealing our jobs. That is so false.

Within a year after our patio was destroyed by 2 feet of snow we had to get it rebuilt, and, I can still hear my mother telling me this story, the company that redid our patio had an ALL Mexican/Latino crew. Before the company hired them an unemployment office said they had 30-40 able bodied people for the job that they would send over for an interview. How many of those AMERICANS showed up? None. Mexicans/ Latinos are not lazy and are not stealing our jobs. There are Americans who believe they are above hard, manual labor.

There are LGBT youth and adults being harassed over which bathroom to use (Trust me they know better than you), who they can marry, getting kicked out (highest minority group homeless by the way), being disowned, committing suicide. All because we are scared to see two people love each other and/or be themselves in a way we aren't use to.

Over the course of the past day I've seen so many Conservatives talk about how all their "Liberal friends" are just complaining and saying that what these people are saying is much worse than any thing Trump could say. Which is complete bull. We aren't going around saying stuff like "I'll grab them by the p***y" and "I'll get away with it because I'm famous" like trump does. There are so many people who don't realize how much this promotes rape culture. By saying you will grab someones crotch and enjoy it is so wrong in so many ways. Women these days are scared to walk alone at night, fear going to parties alone, all because we allow men to get away with such crazy things like this. Yes i know it goes both ways, but right now my focus is on women.

We seem like we are "weak" because we are actually fear for our lives and the lives of our loved ones. Trump and his followers are tearing apart families, leaving LGBTQ+ youth out on the streets, and its making people fear leaving their houses. Where is the country I once loved to call home and felt safe in going? Its time for a change.

We need to Impeach trump and start the election back over. Or have Obama in for a month to month trial until we can figure our crap out. Its time to change the racism, hatred, homophobia, etc. in this nation and fast!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
