We often think that the good times are just handed to us, but good times are a result of the inspiring people in our lives. We remember laughing with our grandparents while doing a jigsaw puzzle on a rainy day, we remember calling our best friends at 2 a.m. to update them on our lives, and we even remember that rare occasion when we got asked out by that quiet boy in AP statistics class who never quite left your life.

Sometimes, the people we cherish the most are the ones we take for granted. Take, for instance...

1. Grandparents.

There's no one you love hanging out and drinking tea with more than your grandparents. They make you laugh and tell you stories from their childhood while spending countless hours doing an impossible jigsaw puzzle with you.

They've lived a mere five minutes down the street from you since you were born, but as they get older, you start to realize just how lucky that is. Things start to happen and grandparents start to age. We can only hope they remember all of the good times you gave them, and you remember the good times as well.

2. Best friends, whenever.

No matter where you are located or where your best friends are located, you should never take for granted how amazing they are. Whether it means calling them at midnight on any given night, or walking into Old Navy talking on the phone and pretending they're with you.

We all miss those days in high school when they came over and laid on the floor, talking about life, boys, food and random gossip. Those days will always seem just like yesterday regardless of how many years have past.

3. Parents.

Your parents gave you life, put a roof over your head and took care of every boo-boo you've ever had. They love seeing you no matter what you've done or how old you get.

We know they'll always be there, but we have to remember to do the same for them. Things like family dinners, long games of Scrabble, and even just a simple, "I love you," are worth it because, truth be told, they'll always remember it.

4. Significant others.

They make you laugh, watch girly movies with you and fill your heart with so much love. Whenever we feel overwhelmed or busy, they hear about it. That's why we shouldn't take them for granted. When you're dating or in a serious relationship, always remember to love and listen just as much as your significant other does, because chances are they are experiencing similar stress.

5. Me, myself, and I.

We even take ourselves for granted! Running yourself into the ground at school is never good, because eventually everything will catch up with you. So next time you're sprinting to your next big activity, take a huge deep breath and let yourself catch up.

So, if you're ever having a horrible day, or even a really awesome one, remember who affects you the most and just how much of a positive impact they've had on your life. Don't forget to appreciate everyone you've been blessed with (including yourself) because you wouldn't want to take any single moment for granted.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
