Being a daddy's girl is unlike anything else. So here are the many reasons my dad deserves a big thank you.
1. He's always believed in me when no one else has.
My dad has given me the support I always needed to get me through my day. Whether it's teaching me soccer skills or how to hold a bat for softball, to telling me how beautiful I am every day. This is something every girl needs to hear when she feels she has no confidence in herself. I never had to feel that because my dad always made me feel special.
2. He gives and gives and asks for nothing in return.
My dad worked his butt off to provide for our family. He started out a young, poor mechanic, and he is now an independent business owner of many tire stores. He provides and gives us the privilege to live the luxurious life we live. When it comes to my family, he puts everyone else first, no matter what. If he's sick or super busy with work, he will always find time to attend any sporting event, and cheer practice or school activities.
3. All the life lessons you give me.
I hate to say this, but you sadly, are always right. When it comes to anything, you always brag about being right, but it isn't until recently that I realized how much wisdom you have and all you have taught me with your boring life lessons. Whether it was dinner dates or just a drive to anywhere, you always gave me some type of life lesson on things I should know, and I always sighed or just nodded, but being on my own now I realize how right you are and all you helped with, by your (sometimes) annoying voice in the back of my head telling me what to do.
4. He's my best friend.
When it comes to anything, you have always been there for me when things get scary or if I get lonely. Whenever I need advice or someone to talk to, I always go to you because you never give me any judgements or shame me for anything i ever tell you. Whether you're in Florida for work or somewhere else, you always call me to check up on me at college or text me that you miss me or that you love me. You act as if you are my age, and not a day over 50, making our time together so much fun. From our road trips to Florida, or our dinner dates when mom wasn't feeling well, I always have so much fun.
5.Most of all, thank you for showing me what I want in a husband.
Having you as my dad has shown me what I expect in a future husband. You show me each day how I should be treated and to expect nothing less than what I deserve. I see how you treat Mom and all the little things you do for her just to see her smile. You're so goofy, easy- going and fun loving that you make each day better than the last. You have been my rock whenever I needed something, or anyone in our family did. You have proven to me that i can find someone who treats me like I should be treated. So for that, I thank you.
Thank you isn't nearly close enough to what you deserve, but for right now it's all i can give. I love you, and I love being your little girl.
