Exercise. You either love it or you hate it...but let's be real, who really loves it that much. Sure, you may feel great after a nice long workout, and exercising every day is good for your health...but other than that, I think we can all agree that working out is awful. You sweat, you're constantly out of breath, you smell, and you may even shed a few tears during the process. Sounds fun, right?
Although everyone has a different experience and opinion about working out, we all know that there are some pretty obvious stages that everyone goes through when they're exercising...emotionally and physically. Don't believe me? Let's see what Michael Scott has to say about it.
1. When you're full of energy before your workout.
Today's the day. You're all set for your workout. It's going to be a good one...you can just feel it. You are full of energy and ready to kill the gym today.
2. When you step on the treadmill and realize that you have to go to the bathroom.
Whatever, I'm going to start it. I'll be fine.
3. When you realize how hard your workout is actually going to be.
It looked easy yesterday!
4. When an upbeat song comes on right as you start to run.
Now I'm pumped up!
5. When you feel like you've run forever, but the treadmill clock says 1:03.
Is this a joke?!
6. When you accidentally turn your cardio machine up too high, thinking you could go that fast.
Better turn it back to 4.0...
7. When you realize that your workout calls for "four sets" instead of one...like you thought.
Well, this is the worst.
8. When the person next to you is running faster or lifting heavier weights than you with no problem at all.
Seriously, what is wrong with me?
9. When you're towards the end of your workout and realize how much you actually have to try to get the results that you want.
Pain is beauty, right?
10. When you finally finish your workout, and don't know how to feel.
I should really keep going...but I physically can't. See you next year, gym!
So yes, working out can be difficult sometimes. Between finding the motivation, searching for a good workout plan, and the effort it takes, gym life can be a lot of work. Keep exercising though, because believe it or not, the benefits will outweigh the struggles!
