Sorority formal recruitment is just around the corner. With record-breaking numbers for many schools like the University of Alabama, chapters have a lot to prepare for. Although formal recruitment is tough on the girls in the chapter as well as the potential new members, it is one of the most rewarding experiences we get to have.
Here is our thought process throughout the week, as told by T-Swift.
You start the work week like, "I totally got this! Gonna be a great week with my sisters!"
What could possibly go wrong?
During work week, you find yourself screwing up the door song, and pretty much everything else while your body and brain are going numb.
Seriously, I just want a nap. And could y'all stop stepping on my feet?
Finally, work week is over!
Finally, the worst week of your life has come to an end! Time to go have some fun right? Wrong.
You then find out the schedule for actual recruitment.
I have to be here looking my absolute best at what time?
You meet your rush crush on the first day of recruitment and you're like...
Literally, you will die if this person does not become your little, or grand-little, or best friend forever.
And the next day when you don't see her in the house you're like...
Why didn't she love me, too?! Definitely writing a bitter song about it.
You realize it just wasn't meant to be and pull yourself together.
So, you shake it off.
All your sisters encourage you and everyone has fun bonding even though it is a tough week.
We all know the love-hate relationship you have with your sorority during recruitment.
You go through the rest of the week killing it with all your sisters.
Seriously, we look amazing. You totally want to be at our "themed parties" this fall.
There are still some disappointments along the way.
The week is confusing and stressful and things don't always go your way.
But you meet tons of amazing girls that you can't wait to have in your house.
You can't wait to tell your sisters about every awesome girl you met.
Tensions tend to get pretty high in the house.
And by the end of it, you pretty much feel like this...
Oh, did our perfect dresses, smiles, makeup, and wedges fool you?
But bid day is finally tomorrow and you leave the last night at the house like...
It's the most exciting day of the year and no one can deny it.
And then you see all the amazing girls on your lawn for bid day as proof of your hard work!
You are so proud of all the new babies you worked so hard to find! And of course, they are all perfect.
When the week is finally over and you have a new pledge class it was all worth it. They are the most amazing group of girls you could have imagined, and you can't wait to teach them your ways.
