Stages Of Midterms As Told By "The Office"

You are a thief of joy.

Stages Of Midterms As Told By "The Office"

With midterms quickly approaching, or already in full swing, emotions run wild, brains go into information overload, and procrastination is at an all time high. We all can't help but go a little crazy.

At first, you plan everything out and think this time is going to be different. You will be better than last midterms week.

Then, you realize how much you actually have to learn.

You will procrastinate a lot by actually cleaning your room for once, eating everything in your fridge, and complaining to all your friends about how much you have to do.

You actually start to get some work done for 10 minutes without getting distracted, and you feel like a God.

But then you realize how much you have to do again, and fall apart.

You start to go a little crazy from being in the library for days.

You keep telling yourself that you can read those five chapters the night before your 8 a.m. test.

And you wonder why you never went to class or took notes. So you pray someone will post a Google doc in the chat room with everything you need to know.

You actually force yourself to study all night because you left it all to the last minute and you're so delirious that you think you still have a chance.

You start to realize you understand some of the stuff you are learning and start to feel good about the exam.

It's the day of the test and you feel good, but then you hear people talking about things you've never even heard before.

So you accept your fate once you read the first question and have no idea what it is.

But once that test is over, no matter how you did, you get a sense of euphoria.

Until you remember you have another midterm the next day.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
