At the moment on campus we are all at risk of the plague....The plague known as the HEAD COLD (dun dun DAAA!!) So somehow, in my worse stage of this annoying sickness, I came up with this brilliant idea to write out a list of stages you encounter before, during, and after you have been affected by this stupid head cold. Let's see if you can relate to any of these. And if so, then thank goodness I'm not alone!
Step 1: The Gloating Stage
You know what I'm talking about! That day you're sitting in class during an exam and everyone around you is sniffling grossly and coughing and you're just sitting there thinking, "man, my immune system is a freaking BOSS!"
Step 2: Denial Stage
*SNEEZE*....Umm that was random...My nose feels a little weird but I'm sure I'm not sick.
Step 3: Precaution Stage
Literally, disinfect EVERYTHING! Wash hands three times in 15 minutes just in case!
Step 4: PANIC STAGE!
"Uhhh my throat hurts....There's pressure in my brain....I've blown my nose three times in five minutes... NOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Step 5: Search the couch cushions for any loose change for medicine.
Because as a poor college student, you can hardly afford the knock-off version of Nyquil.
Step 6: Acceptance
Plop yourself down on that couch honey. Your new cuddle buddy is that box of tissues and chicken noodle soup.
Step 7: Emotional Stage
Personal story time... I cried the whole 15-minute car ride home because I could not decide to eat pizza or soup for lunch.....
Step 8: Time to get back to reality
Get outta bed, pop some eye drops into your exhausted eyeballs, drag yourself to class and just try your best to stay awake.
Step 9: Panic when someone next to you sneezes.
Because there is NO WAY you are going to get sick ever again!
Little advice guys: As the weather begins to get cooler and the seasons change and the colors of the trees change...Except for Phoenix, we don't have that experience...Take your vitamins, and don't share germs with people who are sick. Just avoid those with head colds as much as possible. And parents, if your child has a cold PLEASE DON'T send them to the nursery during church....Don't torture the other parents by getting their kiddos sick. And if you are sick guys, like REALLY SICK, don't go to class until you can breathe and feel more human. Seriously have some class! That's all for now beautiful people! May the odds be ever in your favor!
