The start of a new relationship is a wonderful and magical time. I am lucky enough to have just entered one in early February, just before Valentines Day. Thankfully I did, because I had someone to snuggle up with on that romantic day. By the way, did I mention that my new relationship is with "Grey's Anatomy?"
For anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock, "Grey's" is a hit medical drama by the almighty Shonda Rhimes that has been airing on ABC for the past 12 years. Currently, the first 11 seasons are on Netflix for anyone to watch and enjoy. Getting into the series though kind of feels like a new relationship. Here are the stages of falling in love with "Grey’s:"
1. Admiring from afar

2. Your first date.
After some serious thought and urging of friendships, you decide to give it try. Just one episode, you tell yourself. But suddenly, that first (Netflix) date with Grey and McDreamy turns into an all-night affair that you’ll actually be proud to tell your friends about in the morning.
3. The Honeymoon Phase.
Now you and "Grey's" are going hot and heavy. You can’t even go a few hours without checking in on Seattle Grace and their latest patients. It becomes all you talk about to your friends, roommates and even your mom. They’re probably a little sick of you, but they probably all remember being young and in love.
4. Your first fight.
Every honeymoon phase must come to an end, unfortunately, and that usually happens after the first fight. Of course, throughout seasons one and two, you had some rocky moments like the bomb episode or finding out Derek was actually married for example, but for the most part, you were fine. But then Izzie had to go and cut that LVAD wire, Denny had to die and you cried for almost an hour after even watching. Now you’re left questioning the entire relationship.
5. The calm after the storm.
After your first fight, you’re a little weary about continuing on in this new relationship. Well, for about 30 seconds until Netflix plays the first episode of season three. You’re pretty sure you’re fine, especially after Mark Sloan becomes a series regular because he’s just so nice to look at.
6. Commitment.
It's been a long road to get there but you and "Grey's" are finally settling into a pretty comfortable relationship. You see each other every single night for hours on end. Although the relationship is rocky, you know you guys have each other. It's going to be a long road with a lot of twists and turns so you’re glad "Grey's" is there for you.
Well, until the next main character dies…
