Relationships are a very large part of our everyday lives, but what makes a good relationship? What makes the foundation for a healthy and strong relationship? That’s what I’m here to tell you:

In any relationship, you should have these four key aspects: Respect, Honesty, Communication, and Trust.

You must be wondering, why these four things?

Respect:

Respect is one of these key aspects because in a relationship it is crucial to learn and value what is important to each other. You have to give respect in order to get it and it’s something that everyone deserves. Respect constitutes trust as well in a relationship.

Honesty:

As I always say, honesty is the best policy. When in a relationship, being honest with your partner is one of the most important things, it opens up new levels of comfort and communication. If you’re in a relationship, why would you be dishonest with someone? It seems like taking a step back if you’re not honest with your partner.

Communication:

Communication is also a very key factor in the foundation of a relationship. As said before, honesty is a big part of communication and if you’re not honest, it can skew the communication between partners. In a relationship, you should be able to speak on your desires, feelings, and other thoughts with your significant other with no judgement.

Trust:

Trust is not only a part of a great foundation but one of the most important and crucial things that you MUST have in any sort of relationship, platonic or intimate. Trust is something that needs to be earned, it isn’t easy to gain but it is easily broken. Having trust in a relationship gives the freedom to be yourself and be comfortable around the person you’re with. Without trust, you can’t be sure of what will happen with any certain person, and also it tears a huge hole in the foundation of a healthy and productive relationship.

All these things constitute a healthy and productive relationship base, and whether you are in a platonic or intimate relationship, this applies just the same. A balanced and well foundation creates a smooth start to any situation and leads to a higher well-being, in my opinion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
