Dating someone in law enforcement definitely has it's pros and cons. Unless you're dating someone in law enforcement, you may not understand the things I'm going to talk about, but if you do date someone in this profession, I can guarantee you can relate with me. So here it goes....

1. You will always feel safe.

This is one of the best things about dating a police officer. No matter where you are with them, you won't ever not feel safe.If anything were to go wrong, you know you're in good hands.

2. Plans are never set in stone.

Whether it be your birthday, a holiday, or a special occasion, if they get called into work, they will have to go in. So sometimes special occasions have to be celebrated a week later, but hey better late than never!

3. Their job isn't an easy one, and sometimes it comes home with them.

If they had a bad day, most of the time it will come home with them, and most of the time they won't want to talk about it. They work a very stressful job, so when they do have a bad day you have to reassure them that you're there for them.

4. A simple goodbye is never just a simple goodbye.

When your significant other leaves for his/her shift, saying goodbye isn't always easy. Knowing that he/she will be out putting his/her life on the line isn't an easy pill to swallow, but its what they signed up for. They don't carry a gun and wear a bullet proof vest for fun.

5.They never sit with their back towards a door.

Going out to eat means allowing your significant other dibs on which seat he/she would like. Most of the time they want to see the door to see who's coming and going, so always let them pick where they sit.

6.The brotherhood is strong

There's no bond that compares to the one law enforcement officers have. It's safe to say that if it affects one, it affect all. Its much more than a brotherhood.

To all the other people dating someone in law enforcement, I'm sure you can relate. Although its not easy, we take the good with the bad and at the end of the day you know you've got their six.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
