The One Step That Can Change Everything

The One Step That Can Change Everything

Four months ago, I was your average 18 year old girl, I sit here four months later and I'm still the same girl but with a different attitude towards my life goals. The one thing that changed my attitude was stepping out of my comfort zone. I've always played it safe, but four months ago I took a chance and applied to an internship with MAXIM Magazine. Little did I know that this internship would change my outlook on my goals in life completely. What made the MAXIM fashion department choose me out of all the applicants? Was it my attitude? Was it my personality? Was it all of the above? Personally, I believe it was because I took a step out of my comfort zone. I was unfamiliar with the field I applied to. I was young and naive and I still am about so much (says my mom). I was willing to learn new things and experience things I would never see in my world. Working in an atomosphere that I was not used to, opened my eyes to a whole new world. The fashion world. This world is a fast-paced, chaotic and something I can barely put into words. Taking that step out of my comfort zone was the best step I've made thus far in my life.

One extra step can take you to places that you have never seen before. It can teach you more about yourself that you've never known before. Life is so unpredictable and it is a journey that takes you for so many twists and turns. Why not add more to your journey and make your life even more unpredictable with a little bit more excitement? You will meet people that will inspire you to make more of yourself. You will meet people that will change your life forever. You will be determined to be even greater than you already are. You will find that you are happier than you have ever been before. You will realize what actually matters in life and what doesn't. That one step out of your comfort zone can take you for a thousand more twist and turns, and what you do in each situation will be the outcome of your life journey. Neale Donald Walsch, an American author said, "life begins at the end of your comfort zone." From experience, I can tell you that this statement is true. The bubble that surrounds you is holding you back from opportunites that could change your life forever. The life that you will live after leaving your comfort zone will be extraordianry and you will never go back to the way things used to be. Remember if your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough. In order to conquer your dreams, one must take at least three steps. The first step is leaving your comfort zone. While the second and third steps are willing to learn new things and wanting to expereince a world that they have never seen before. Don't be afraid to make changes to your lifestyle, make the most of every opportunity that arises, and never be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
