Let's put the politics aside for a second. Now you have people who are willing to lead the country and face every challenge that comes that way appropriately. Yes, our nations leaders have had their fundamental differences, but one characteristic they have all held is their ability to swallow criticism appropriately. What I mean by this is that they knew when to put the petty comments aside and focus on keeping the country safe and prosperous. This is one of the main characteristics you must consider before voting. Can this candidate lead the country while taking an overwhelming amount of criticism? In America today we face a divided nation, and it doesn't look Washington will fix this divide anytime soon. Regardless of who's elected, they're going to have to deal with a lot of criticism from one side or the other. Some of this criticism (as we've seen over the past 16 years) is just pure rhetoric and amounts to very little. If there is one thing I can say about President Barack Obama and President George W. Bush, it's that they've had an overwhelming amount of hateful remarks and criticism sent their way by the opposing party. But they were able to swallow it and lead the country. Politics aside, those are the types of people you need in office, and I believe all but one candidate for 2016 possesses this characteristic. Yes, that one candidate is Donald Trump. Let's compare Trump to our past leader and current candidates.
Protesters:
Trump vs. Obama
George W. Bush
Bill Clinton
Trump, again.
Here is my point, after watching all of these videos, notice that every president has addressed the hecklers and argued with them. They all gave their hecklers attention and listened to them. Trump doesn't give them the time of day. That's not a leader; that's a tyrant. How about his competitors?
Bernie Sanders
Trump supporter comes in, and Bernie gives him nothing but his message. No violence, no insults, just his stance.
Ted Cruz
Very respectable move by Cruz. Again, no insults, all ears and contest. Cruz gives him nothing but his views. We need this type of talking; that is the only way we get anywhere in our divided nation. If we take political views out of it, I do believe every candidate besides Trump has the ability to be the leader of the United States of America.
Trump reminds me more of this guy...
I wouldn't be surprised if Trump pulled a less extreme version of this if elected president. He cannot handle criticism like a leader should be able to. So Republicans and Democrats, please for the sake of the country, anyone but Trump.
