The Most Peaceful Parts of the Day

Sunrises and sunsets are enlightening.

What’s the part of the day that makes you feel the happiest and the most at ease? Is it the morning, afternoon, evening, or night? For me, a nice sunrise and sunset make me feel happiest with the most ease and joy.

I am only a morning person when I get at least 8 hours of sleep, or enough sleep that makes me feel completely refreshed. If I go to bed super early (maybe 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.), then I should be able to wake up in time to experience a morning sunrise.

Since my house is planted on the middle of a small mountain, it can be hard for me to see good sunrises. Sometimes, I will drive to the top of the mountain or go to a park just to see the sunrise-- anywhere that is high up and has a nice view.

The average sunrise rises anywhere from 5 a.m. - 6 a.m. During this time of the early morning hours, the world around you seems to finally be at peace. If you listen, no one is around. You don’t hear any cars, talking, or any noise. Just silence.

It’s during the times of silence in which you feel as though you are the only person in the world. There are no noises, commotions, nor worries. It’s just you upon the world, and that’s the most peaceful thing of which I can think.

You may choose to watch the sunrise on your own (if you enjoy times of solitude) or, you may choose to watch it with a friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, dog, or whomever you want. It should be a peaceful, relaxing, and special moment. Be sure to spend it with someone you cherish.

There is nothing more amazing than watching the earth come to life. First, everything around you is dark and silent. Then, out of nowhere, a bright light makes its presence onto the horizon, followed by the awakening sounds of cars, businesses, and people. It’s like the earth is waking up.

To me, each morning is so nice because it’s like a fresh start and a fresh beginning. Everything that you worried about yesterday lingers away in the past. Now, all your worries are left behind. You can achieve anything and the world is at your forefront.

The other most relaxing part of the day is the time in which the sun sets. Your life will be put to ease and you will soon begin to relax. You will see various colors disperse throughout the clouds and evening sky. Each pattern of colors is different. You will not know what to expect. But do expect that it will be beautiful.

Depending on where you live and the time of the year, the time at which the sun sets can vary for everyone. I would say the sun typically goes down, on average, anywhere from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Again, if you have to, climb to the top of a lookout point to receive the ultimate experience.

Just like a “good morning,” the sun will eventually signal a “good night.” From a humanistic perspective, the sun will go down and your life will feel at ease. All the worries and struggles for which you fought will soon go down just like the sun.

There will be no worries; there will be no struggles. There will just be peace. Nothing lasts forever-- no event, no challenge, no light. Everything on this earth is temporary. As everything fades away, only one thing will be certain: the light will soon shine again and will be ready for great change.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
