The MOST Important Life Lesson Elle Woods Taught Us

At first glance, Legally Blonde looks like it might just be another cliche movie that uses an airhead character to degrade the image of sorority girls. However, Elle Woods rightfully proves this image wrong by being one of the most kind-hearted and genuine characters to grace the movie screen. She's blonde, she mostly cares about fashion and she applies to Harvard Law in hopes of winning back her dream man who dumped her.

Does she happen to pertain some of the qualities associated with a "dumb sorority girl?" Sure. Does this mean we have the right to judge who Elle is as a person or her ability in the workplace? Absolutely not. Throughout the movie, Elle continues to prove to us what a loyal, intelligent, hard-worker she is and in the end teaches us the most valuable life lesson: you must always have faith in yourself.

Regardless of how you view Elle Woods, here are a few reasons I consider her a spirit animal of mine:

1.) For starters, the girl knows how to handle a break up. She decides not to let Warner's old chocolates go to waste and throws them at the sappy romantic comedy she's watching instead.

2.) She doesn't let the break-up keep her in bed for too long and is quickly back in the swing of things with her girlfriends by her side.

3.) Plus you have to hand it to her for getting back on her " reading grind" which winds up helping her later on in the movie.

4.) Sadly as much as she loves reading Cosmo and hanging out with her girls, her heart still hurts; she still wants Warner back. It seems to Elle like there's only one way to do this... Follow him to Harvard Law School (no matter how hard that might be).

5.) She dedicates herself to getting into the school and all of the time and hard work eventually pays off. Scoring a 179 on her LSAT, she's off to Harvard Law!

6.) When she gets there, she doesn't let anyone or anything intimidate her. Pink pen still in tack, she begins her new life in Boston.

7.) Plus, she still manages to make time to get her nails and feet done between studying, befriending the nail technician & teaching everyone in the salon some very valuable life lessons.

8.) When she starts receiving dirty looks & rude comments by other people around campus for not belonging, she doesn't let it phase her.

9.) Instead she helps out another law student she doesn't even know, pretending to be his girlfriend so that the girls he's with will give him a chance.

10.) And let's not forget about her being selected to work on a major case with the professor and her big break in the courtroom.

11.) She wins the case, thanks to all that Cosmo reading she did during the breakup!

12.) On top of winning the case, she finally realizes some dumb boy doesn't control her happiness. Now this time instead of setting a goal for someone else, she sets a goal for herself.

13.) And that goal is achieved.

Next time you get dumped or do something solely to get a boy to notice you, remember Elle Woods & what you can accomplish if you always have faith in YOURSELF.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
