I always hear everyone say, “Don’t forget the CHRIST in Christmas.” And I absolutely agree. For, if it weren’t for Jesus and his birth and all the angels and the star and all that make Christmas, Christmas we wouldn’t have Christmas. However, with all the humbug and everything un-CHRIST like going on I wanted to remind everyone to not forget the M.A.S. in Christmas, Make America Splendid.

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. - ELF

I think that every single one of us could take some advice from Buddy the Elf. Rather than yelling and fighting and complaining and bashing let's all try to spread the cheer, talk about happiness and the things we are grateful for and how lucky we are to live this life and enjoy this holiday season.

Not everyone gets the chance to enjoy these amazing times that we are so fortunate to. I for one have a family, food, and a roof over my head that I am eternally grateful for, I think America is pretty dang Splendid.

This holiday season I am more grateful than ever and that is because the older I get the more thankful I am for the life I am given. I could complain about the little money I have, or this crappy Nebraska winter weather, or the fact that my finals weeks is going to be the worst one yet. But instead of complaining and dwelling on the negative things in life why not spread a little Christmas cheer and make America Splendid?

This holiday season, let us all join in making life and America and everyone splendid. Let us not try to fix things or make sure that things are how we want them, let us not be selfish and negative and worried and stressed. This holiday season, let’s give all of our worries to CHRIST and God and let’s make sure we celebrate and are grateful and happy and enjoy both the CHRIST and the M.A.S. this holiday season.

~Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
