The Many Stages Of A Spring Break Road Trip

It's spring break season and many of you will be embarking on the long journey of a Spring Break road trip. Like any road trip this one will encompass many different stages that will include twists and turns that will produce many stories to tell for later.

Stage of excitement: Right when you start driving everyone has their energy level set to the max; everyone is pumped to arrive to their destination. The music is blaring, everyone is singing, dancing and having a good time. It feels as if you will be arriving at your destination in a couple hours.

Stage of contentment: A couple hours pass by and a lull begins where everyone stops all talking. People have calmed down and begin to get comfortable for the long ride ahead of them.

Stage of worrying: Around five hours in everyone's families start to worry about your safety so they decide to text and call every 20 minutes.

Stage of being lost: The ride is going smoothly and you are jamming out to some music and then you realize that you are completely lost and have no idea where you are or how to get back to the main road. Thank goodness for Google maps.

Stage of forgetfulness: It's mid way through the car ride and the people in the back of the car have fallen asleep while the rest stay up to drive. Then all of a sudden one person frantically wakes up realizing they forgot something very important back home.

Stage of being the only one awake: Everyone decides to fall asleep while you're the only one awake because you are driving so you put the music up a tiny bit and diligently have a mini jam session.

Stage of road rage: This is when you have been driving for way too long and start to get angry at anyone who does anything minor against you. Someone cuts you off? You yell at them for a solid ten minutes and use every foul word you know while doing it.

Stage of sleep deprivation: So at this point no one has really gotten the best sleep which results in sharing funny and weird stories that make everyone laugh more than they should.

Stage of annoyance: Everyone in the car becomes upset at the one person in the car who still has energy 9 hours in while everyone else is trying to sleep.

Stage of being gross: it's 4 in the morning and you can feel how gross your hair is so you end up washing it at the local gas station. It may be gross, but it sure is effective.

Stage of contemplation: When you have to use the restroom and you realize the next rest area is 30 miles away so you honestly consider pulling over and peeing on the side of the road.

Stage of keeping the peace: There are always those two friends that somehow get into a fight which gets amplified when sleep deprived and stuck in a small vehicle. This leaves one person to play peacekeeper and make sure the fight stops before it gets too bad.

Stage of happiness and relief: You have entered the city of your desired location and suddenly become wide awake and ecstatic. All the troubles of the past road trip are now behind you. You are finally able to allow yourself to relax and you are relieved of all past worries.

Road trips take up more time in a vacation than most people may realize. These car rides are never dull and bring out the best and/or worst in people. With that being said, a road trip is something everyone should go through because the outcome is always something to be laughed about later. On an end note I hope that everyone has a safe spring break and enjoys the warm weather!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
