The Mainstream Media Continues To Hand Hillary The Election

An analysis into the way the mainstream media has single-handedly given Hillary every opportunity to be our next president.

The Libertarian Republic

It comes as no surprise to most that multiple media outlets remain to be bias in their own respects. NBC, CNN, ABC, The Washington Post, and many news reporters, and anchors, and celebrities in general share particularly leftist ideals. On the other hand, FOX News, The New York Post, and The Wall Street Journal are typically very conservative in their news reporting, focusing mostly on their right wing feelings. This has become a real shame. The divide amongst the way our news is portrayed is so clear and evident and strong—kind of sounds like the American people doesn't it?

So has the media helped to play a role in this? Maybe. But what is for sure, is how obvious it has become that most media outlets, who share mostly liberal views, continue to paint Republican Presidential candidate, Donald Trump, as the catalyst to the downfall of this nation through many apparent and circumstantial scandals. In the eyes of the media, Democratic Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, is viewed as the "be all and end all" individual. Someone this country so desperately needs, while at the same time choosing to ignore the factual havoc that she continues to reek under wraps; no claims behind it.

In recent events, the latest scandal to hit the Tump campaign has been known in its entirety as the "Trump tapes." In a 2005 interview with former soap opera actor, Billy Bush, Trump can be heard bragging in vulgar terms about kissing, groping, and trying to have sex with women on a live mic. It was even the first question that debate moderators didn't waste any time badgering Trump with at the second presidential debate last Sunday night. But as I stated before, would this persistent line of questioning come as a surprise to you with Anderson Cooper being the primary news anchor on CNN and talk show host, Martha Raddatz from ABC News as the two debate moderators? I sure hope not. Trump in return, of course, strategically tried to deviate from the question as quickly as he could, apologizing for what he said and insisting it was "locker room talk," then tried to move on to more important issues in his answer like, I don't know, the country.

Now, I'm in no way agreeing with what was said on those tapes, but I am also not going to allow this phenomenon to enable me to think that Hillary Rodham Clinton is any better of a presidential candidate. What Trump said 11 years ago behind closed doors on a live mic while he was still a celebrity, should really not have any prevalence to this election! Why the heck is this important!? I want to know how the economy is going to get back on its feet, how we're going to handle the threat of terrorism, and how we're going to bring jobs back to this nation. Instead, I have to be hearing about what mean thing one person said about another like we're in elementary school or something, and crying about everything. People make mistakes and people have slips of the tongue, we're all human, but what's said has been said and apologies have been given where they are due so what does everybody else want? For all we know, George Washington could have said some vulgar statements like Trump in his lifetime, but we'd never know because lucky for him he didn't live in a century filled with badgering and unfair media.

Fast forward about a week after the tapes were released and now come a new wave of reports that the media just couldn't wait to get their hands on. Multiple women have now come forward claiming that they were victims of sexual abuse at the hands of Donald Trump back in the '80s. Nothing has been proven, it's all just here say, for now at least, but it all just seems a little too convenient. It was the perfect opportunity to pounce on an accusation like this after tapes of Trump becoming sexually forthright with women were released. What's interesting enough (which I'm sure the mainstream media never cared to check into because who uses facts these days) is that Trump accuser, Jessica Leeds, claims that he lifted the armrest when they were seated next to each other on a plane and forcefully groped her. Fact check: armrests in all '80s planes did not lift, so clearly someone's not telling the truth here. Trump has continued to deny these accusations through the media's attempted sabotage.

Here's where things get astonishingly ridiculous. Reports of Hillary's husband, former President Bill Clinton, show that he has also come in contact with his fair share of similar accusations by women. The only difference is, the media fails to report it like they would a high profile Republican, so nothing ends up happening to these accusations. It also could probably have something to do with the fact that Hillary is said to have threatened any woman who dare cross her husband and family name by taking these cases towards any justice institution. But, you know, all I see plastered across headlines at this point in the election is how demeaning Trump's remarks were. Forget Hillary's mistakes. Forget the over 30,000 deleted classified emails, forget the American's lives lost in the Benghazi raid, forget the millions of dollars wrongfully brought in by the Clinton foundation. No its ok, Hillary's a democrat and therefore a safe mark from media tirade. Man, if Trump was involved with similar scandals, and may I add important scandals that threaten the United States as a whole, he wouldn't even be where he is today in the 2016 election. The media would have a field day if it were him. I for one, want the first female president of the United States, to have won fairly (ask Bernie Sanders that one) and be a strong and caring woman who doesn't have time for the nonsense that Hillary drowns herself in.

All I'm asking here, is for the people of the United States, in this upcoming election, to put together their own thoughts. Don't use the mainstream media as an outlet for aiding your decision making process on who should be the next president of the United States because, honestly, you're probably more intellectual sound in reasoning than they are.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
