The Loss Of A Legend
Mirror

On April 21, 20016 the world lost yet another legend of the 1980s era. Prince Roger Nelson, most commonly known by Prince, was taken from the world on that day. Known for his talent of singing and song writing, Prince touched the hearts of many around the world. Some of his most famous works include “Little Red Corvette,” “Purple Rain,” “How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore” and “I Wanna Be Your Lover.” When the world found out about the death of Prince, many hearts were shattered. It was as if the world had stopped and everyone knew why. The question is however, what caused the loss of Prince at such an early age?

When it comes to the death of any famous person there is always going to speculations about how the individual died. From Tupac to Michael Jackson, there has always been conspiracy theories that suggest the person that dies (whether from natural causes or not) was murdered. Prince, of course, was no exception to these theories. Many people believed that Prince may have been murdered because of a settlement that he had made, however, according to several online sources, the actual cause of death may have been a drug overdose.

According to the dailymail.co.uk, the singer had been sick with the flu for weeks before his death on the 21. Prince, a few days before he died, apparently was hospitalized on his way home from a concert. His pilot had to make an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois where he was then rushed to a nearby hospital. Prince, after 10 hours, left the hospital and continued on his way home according to the Guardian. Many eye witnesses however, reported that the next day they saw Prince going about his daily routines, and he even hosted a dance party at his home. Though many of the guest thought that they would not see him due to him being sick, he still came out and mingled with his guest at his party.

It was said that six months before his death he was diagnosed with AIDS, which he refused to be treated for because he thought God would heal him. It was also said that he was addicted to pain killers due to pains he had developed in his hip and knees from years of jumping of speakers in high heels. He apparently had a really bad prescription drug problem because of those pains, and opioids where found in his home when they found him.

Though there are many speculations as to what happened to Prince, a final autopsy report has not been released yet. One thing I do know for certain however, is that the world has yet again lost another legend who will surely be missed. Prince not only through his music but also through the people whose lives he touched will continue to live on. Though the world lost a legend heaven gained an angel, and I hope that the Prince is resting peacefully in paradise.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
