With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s natural to think about what we are thankful for. We are all thankful for our family, friends, a roof over our heads, and the food on the table. We are all thankful for those things every day of the year. Along with these things, here are some other little things I am thankful for that are sometimes looked over.
A College Education
I am thankful for learning new things every day, living in a wonderful and safe environment, and getting the opportunity to expand my horizons and be pushed to do great things in this world.
Photographs
A picture is worth a thousand words and holds a memory forever.
Coffee
My morning savior, every day.
Laughter
Honestly, how awful would the world be if there was no laughter? A pretty awful one if you ask me.
Sunsets
Nothing beats the beauty of a pink and gold sunset.
Nature
It’s Earth’s gift to us, and its beauty should never be taken for granted.
Music
Music appears in my every day life, and just makes it a little brighter.
Pets
Incredibly grateful because I would be so lonely without my dog by my side.
Long Talks with Friends
I will be forever thankful for the friends I can share my stories with.
Books
That feeling you get when you get completely lost in a book and just be able to escape from the world for a little awhile; priceless.
Movies
This form of art with it’s many genres and many emotions they make you feel does not go unnoticed.
The Unconditional Support From My Parents
I owe everything to my parents. Their constant support is what made me who I am and got me to where I am today, and I am eternally grateful.
My Grandparents
You always served as my role models and I could never picture a life without you, your unconditional love, and your amazing cooking.
Family Gatherings
Thankful for this reminder that I am always surrounded by people who love me.
Beaches
The long stretch of sand and the never ending ocean of vast sparking water brings me nothing but relaxation and happiness.
Access to Clean Water and Food
Not everyone can obtain these things as easily as others, and I am so incredibly thankful that I have access to these things to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Sports and Team Spirit
The bonding and sense of community/family that come with supporting a team or playing a sport yourself is an amazing feeling that I am always thankful to be a part of.
Kindness in Others
Kindness can spread like wildfire and can lift anyone’s spirits. Seeing this in others is beautiful and is truly inspiring.
A Typical Thanksgiving Meal
Stuffing and pumpkin pie. Need I say more?
